I quite enjoyed it aswell. That one fellow that kept killing you, and you got that final knife kill on him after the Match was over? Quite satisfactory.

What was particularly amusing to me was that as soon as the time ended, everyone would switch to their melees so fast and would run at you in hopes to kill you, even if they were hundreds of miles away.

You're right. It was quite fun thing to do . If my memory serves me right,There was a time when I killed 4 soldiers with a single shot with this "after-game melee massacre ability"

I suggested to bring this back a while ago but nothing happened. Don't waste your time guys.
I just find it unfair how it's in other versions still yet they removed it from ours.

when the round ends, you used to be able to still knife the people alive for about 5-10 seconds and it was fun

If I'm not wrong, in Spy mode after a round ended you still could kill any player (enemy) that is still alive with your throwing knives (yeap, only if using VIP chars).
Anyway, I support this idea since I miss those old times, specially the classic massacre after a good TDM Egypt game xD

A friend of mine found an exception to this glitch. In Spy Mode, you can kill other players at the end of a round using the throwing knives of VIP characters.

Spy mode being laggy and all that, I'd think of it as more of a headache than fun. I gave up with that recent Spy Mode event due to the lag, even though I had left a couple games to win the crates.

I loved how in HMX the angry mutants who kept chasing you throughout the map turned and ran away after the timer used to end.

If any kind GM could at least post if it was possible or not bringing this thing back, so that we won't have to keep our hopes high forever. -_-
