Yes, if you got it and then failed to do the next month task, you will lose the ribbon. However you would still be able to gain it the following month after that.
This is just like the KDR ribbon 2.0 lose it and gain it any time, with this "Monthly Mix" ribbon, you can gain it the next month if lost it previous month. -
