Did you apply?
I did, as did several other, far more qualified individuals than Purvis. This result is incredibly strange given his lack of participation in the community (he even admits in the announcement post "I haven't really played CF in a long time").
But, I hope he does well.
Edit: I guess I am incredibly confused how someone with no relevance to the our community for the last 16 months was selected as our representative. Can anyone shed light on this for me? -
First of all, congratulations Purvis!
Just my 2 cents. CFS is obviously planning on using the videos of the representatives as a form of marketing, thus the person chosen also needed to match their ideal "face of CFS". When it comes down to it, talent was probably only a small part of the selection. Once again, just my thoughts.
Disclosure: I don't know what this Purvis guy looks like and can't tell based on that small FB pic. This is just speaking from experience. I sometimes interview for positions at my company. I know within 30 seconds of the interview whether I'd like to work with them or not. I don't care what their skills are, as anything can be taught. That's just reality, sometimes, and that is the basis for my opinion. -

Another example of how incompetent the people at CFS are when it comes down to contests. They have no clue what they're doing.As a matter of fact I don't even remember when was the last time I saw him anywhere, on forums, on streams and stuff. But at the end of the day we're talking about Z8 here...
Except Z8 aint CFS. -

You sound a little hurt. And he doesnt want to return to the community because nobody appreciated him. When he was around he definitely cared the most. Only person I have ever seen dress in CF gear and make a freaking news channel and more. He just never had the help. He will do fine. -

I remember when this guy asked me for help for his news channel. I grateful said that I will help him, I never got a response back from him even though I PM him again a few weeks later. So I guess he doesn't need help.
