Game freezing once in a while

So whenever I'm playing crossfire my game freezes for like 1 sec once in a while, very annoying lol. Is there a way to cap the FPS to 60 or 100 or something?

Using a GTX1060/I5-6400 so it shouldn't freeze at all.
Other games work normal, it's just crossfire that freezes once in a while.

  • CrossFire doesn't offer an option to lock the FPS at any specific amount. Whats running in your background? Also what OS are you using? It might not even be a graphics card thing, it could just be a hogged resource thing. Also resolution, etc. The more info we have, the more we can help out :)

Just to answer this part, yes. It should be somewhere in the Nvidia control panel. Look for and enable Vsync. You may have to add CrossFire to your program list in the Nvidia control panel before it lets you do it.

I actually had a problem with the opposite, mine was stuck at 60 and I wanted to increase it, and turning off Vsync fixed it for me.

If you still want this by the time I get home from work then I'll try and go into more depth.
  • I'm using Win 10, almost nothing is running in my background (tried closing everything while playing still getting tiny freezes which mess up my bhopping when playing ghost mode lol). I'm playing on the 1920 rez.
