Wrong section mate. This is the right section.
Anyway, you can't keep more than 12000 MP because on the first day of every month, MP will be reset except for any amounts saved thats not more 12k.

Yes.
If you saved 8000 MP (or any amount less than 12000), you would keep them.
If you saved 12000 MP, you would keep them
If you saved 20000(or any amount higher than 12000) , you would lose 8000 and keep 12000.

They don't give you MP, they just allow you to retain 12000 or less only.
