Xigncode 3

What are your opinions on our "new" anticheat software? I guess it's been here for quiet a while, so we had time to see how good or bad it is at doing its job.

Imo, it's as ineffective as xtrap. Probably even worse.
Judging by the amount of chaters outside ranked mathes(I don't wanna know how many of them are there), it's not really doing it's job. Maybe it can block 5 years old public cheats, but other than that, not very helpful.
I'm tired of getting the "You have submitted 5 hacking tickets in the last 24 hours, please try again later." message.

  • Well when they first brought it on it got rid of the hacks that Xtrap wasn't covering. I remember in the week before the update that brought in xign I was seeing just about all the hack types but shooting through walls. Then xign got brought and I stopped seeing them....for awhile. We're back to wallers (seeing through walls), aim.bots, magical flying people, and a few others to name a few. So it'd be nice if it'd get updated and block those out or at least SOME of them. In my thoughts....it's more or less the same effectiveness as xtrap....the real problem is it needs a team of people working through CF for xign to update it at least once a month if it's going to be effective. unfortunately I doubt we'll see that. So we'll just have to hope that it gets updated soon AND that the Z8 staff that handles hack reports start plowing through the reports and banning people...would also be nice if they followed through with that MAC address banning and other further actions that would prevent the same people from coming back. It'd also be nice if Z8 would take action on entire clans that support hackers and players who knowingly support them providing proof is given of their support of course.

DIrect quote from the clan page of a well known hacking clan:
"Wellcome in clan [...] . All clan playing ranked match If you cheater we will accept you in clan"
What shocks me the most is their audacity, but unfortunately you can't ban them all just because of the clan's "description".
As for the supporting of hackers, there is nothing that can be done in ranked mode since there is no kvs.
But in pubs, for whatever reason players don't press F11 when a hacker is being kicked, there should be a log of the people who agreed and disagreed, and in the event of said hacker being banned, there should be a light punishment (let's say a 3 day ban) for "not being a fair and rightfull player" or "exploiting a cheater for your own personal gain".

-Edit- I'm talking only for the supporters, not the hackers themselves.

Depends how obvious the hacker is. Sometimes hackers try to hide their hack and its not as obvious to the players on the hackers team that said player is cheating. A 3 day ban just for pressing F12 wouldn't be fair, though a ban for players who openly support a cheater, such as constantly duoing with a cheater in ranked, should be banned, if there's enough evidence. However that evidence would be hard to prove in most cases.

Even though I don't think that people are that naive, I see your point in some cases being true (a small percentage of them)
I think that the only way you could catch someone red handed supporting a hacker is if you can capture a screenshot of him specifically stating that he supports the hacker, which is to say the least, difficult. But if you achieve something like that then yeah, he should be treated equally as the hacker.
I'm wondering, when someone who is cheating gets kicked and someone(not the person being kicked) is spamming their macro F12-F12-F12, are they considered supporters and therefore eligible for a ban?
  • I think it should be updated monthly at least. Also, I think they should increase that 5 ticket limit to 10 ,maybe ?
As suggested numerous times, I think they should ban those cheaters upon IP/MAC address, too.

Yea, exactly what Claire said. They can't just ban players that don't vote for a kick.. There are kids playing this game too
I was playing a game yesterday, and we couldn't kick the cheaters in that game because simply they had their friends playing with them. So whenever someone tried to kick one of them, they just went F12 F12 F12 F12, and he wasn't kicked. We couldn't kick them, so I just saved replay and left the room. Such players that state they are aiding those cheaters should be banned however. Although some players tend to troll about f11/f12 , so I don't think this could be used against them either...
