Mouse Sensitvity/DPI

Questions I want to ask you guys, if everyone can answer it would mean a lot

How do you find the right mouse sensitivity and dpi for yourself?

Why do most players use 400 dpi?

What are the pros and cons of using a high sensitivity vs using a low sensitivity?

Does sensitivity and dpi effect your aim?

  • Theres both good and bad to having high or low sens. It's about what u feel comfortable with. I use 400dpi 8-10 sens
  • As oBarlu said there is no right and wrong setting, it's just about how comfortable you feel.
The rule I follow is to set your dpi/sensivity so much so you can make an 180 turn comfortably, ig not having to pick up the mouse mid movement.
My settings are ~1k dpi and 12 sensitivity, because I have a limited space for my mouse movements.
On the other hand a friend of mine has set his dpi ~2k and his sensivity ~50, because that's how he feels comfortable playing.
    As for your questions:
    (1) I followed the "rule" I mentioned above.
(2)+(4) I believe you get better aim with a low sensitivity/dpi (especially in sniping) because it's more controllable and you don't have to do very delicate movements with the mouse in order to aim properly.
3)The biggest pro for me is the improved aim.
The biggest con for me is that if you don't have a lot of space to move your mouse (in a low sens/dpi setting) is that you don't have sufficient time to turn if you are being shot at and you don't have a wide enough perspective of the map.
    Hope that helps :)

so what are some of the good and bads of high and low sens if you could tell me. I use 400 dpi 12 sens but i cant aim well but when i lower it to 400 dpi by 4 its easy to aim but hard to move and react quick

I suggest sticking to your lower sensitivity option since you believe it's better for aiming. Try using your entire arm to move your mouse. Basically, use your forearm for swiping and wrist for small adjustments in your aim.
  • I'm using 500 dpi x/y and 0 sens in Crossfire :) In the begining it's hard to play but after a few FFA games it's pretty good :D
  • I use 800/12 because I have a small area for my mouse
