Replays

Is there a way to get back lost replays? I updated my operating system didn't know that re-downloading CF deletes your in game replays.

  • Your In-Game replays should stay even after a reinstall. So it was probably the update which burned your Replay Storage to the Ground.

As for getting it back, I'd personally doubt it. There are data recovery programs and the like, but I personally don't really have much faith in these kind of things.

Yea unfortunately it has disappeared into the abyss
  • 1. Default location of replays : C:\Users\your user name\Documents\Cross Fire\Replay

    2. If you wipe the C: - the only chance to recover replay file is to use a recover data program just after u delete C: ... still if you already install windows on C: ... you can recover some files from area that wasn't already rewriten :(
Example of programs: 7-Data REcovery Suite Enterprise, ReCurva ... etc

    3. Now to avoid this kind of things for the future:
    - Must have at least 1 more partition on your HDD ( Like D: for example)
    - Relocate all of your personal libraries to D: (after you reinstall windows), or to any other partition you desire (libraries like My Documents, My Music, My Videos ..etc) *

    * to do that - open personal folder (windows->click on your user name), here for each directory you see there : My Documents, Desktop, My Music, My Videos ... etc. , ricgh click on each one, choose properties -> location

here you see the current path to directory location, just change the letter '' C '' with the letter of the partition you want to be stored, Example: C:\Users\THOR\Desktop change to E:\Users\THOR\Desktop and apply

This way all the content of those directory will be changed to another partition for the future, so your replays will no longer stored to C: ...

therefore next time when you will format C: to reinstall your windows will no longer loose replays, prints, picture .. etc.

P.S. Of course you must delete only C: (primary partition) not all your HDD :)
Yeah you're right didn't know, but thankfully my laptop still has them since it was my desktop that I did the updating on.

No data is Permanently Deleted. Try playing around with some of those Programs. I know they worked for me for deleted videos etc. Also some people after installing windows keep an old windowback files in C drive which would have all old data. Some people if they install windows over the old windows. If completely clean HDD and then installed windows best is above programs or others.
