Axe Beast or Shovel Obsidian Beast

I tried looking if anyone has already asked this, but didn't find anything, so sorry if someone has already asked this. I'm debating whether I should buy the Axe Beast or Shovel Obsidian, I personally feel like with the axe it would be easy to kill but the shovel has that melee switch option which gives you quite a few different melee's to use. I honestly can't decide which to get, maybe someone can help me out with this decision?
PS - I already own a permanent shovel but not an axe.

I have both and both are really good. But I think Shovel is better, gives you a lot of other melees (even though it's random.)

It is as you said.
It will probably be easier to get kills with axe, as you can just slash to get headshots. Just as any other axe.

The shovel is weaker in this point as you just get a kill with the left klick slash but the obsidian shovel has the cool feature to change melee types.
Anyways you will mostly get any other shovel skin.

I have the shovel. I got it with the preorder thats why i decided for the shovel as it was cheaper.

The axe is way better if u can get those headshots. I prefer the kukri tho

Here is a scenario: You go around a corner and you see a person close to you within melee range immediately as you turn round the corner . What do you do?
a. Spam left click and aim for the head hoping to get a headshot
b. Spam right click to get a stab.
If you had vip axe then congratulations option a instantly gets you a headshot and your life is saved. Option B with the vip axe would take longer but it would depend on whether the other player responded with right lick first, i.e. just luck.
If you had vip shovel then option A would get you around 90 dmg to the head (if no armour on the opposing player). You are basically left at the mercy of your opponent with option A when you have vip shovel. Option B would be the same as the previous option B i.e it would depend on whether the other player responded with right lick first, i.e. just luck.
You gotta choose. Fast responses or lazy right click.

I think the Axe is better in a knife fight than the shovel. If you're used to the shovel windup then it becomes easy to kill them mid swing whereas with the axe you can just slash at the head and never have to worry about them living. The shovel is nice because it gives you lots of options for melee weapons using it's perk but if you ever want a specific weapon then you might be stuck standing around spamming 3 until you finally get it.
