We both had stable pings and his spawn shield was off after the second peek.

I don't think this is a reg bug, I think it's a spawn shield bug. Sometimes I get killed after 0.5 of a second after spawning, yet my enemies can take maybe 2 seconds after the spawn protection has finished.
