Current state of the game - Is it worth coming back?

Hey yo, I doubt anyone remembers me, all around me are unfamiliar faces :( Anywho, as the title says..

Last time I actually played CF was a good 2-3 years ago. Now I want your guys honest opinion, that also means putting aside all biased opinions and whatnot. Is the game worth investing time into again? I played during an era where many players started leaving due to CF being unable to make any "successful progress" as I would say, or anything worthwhile staying for really... as such, I still have my doubts about returning back to this game. Yet at the same time, I've invested a lot on here (time, money) and the best part, this amazing community! Convince me and give me hope that this game is still the good ol' entertaining game it was.

P.S if there's anyone from 2-3 years ago that does remember, shoot me a PM and play some matches with me! : 3 I only left you all cause everyone started leaving me : (

  • The game obviously changed a lot. Is it worth coming back? I think so, yes. I came back 2-3 months ago from a 1 1/2 year break, been playing since 2009 but on different accs. The game has grown a lot even if the player base has gone down a little bit. You should really give it a shot.

Do you know if the population has changed?
Last time I checked, NA servers were dying like my dogs in Asia, and (no racism intended) Egyptian players overrunning the lobbies.
  • I'll say this...
the game in Management over the past 1-2 years has improved in management and the GM team is to thank as they now understand and take the Communities opinion into account,
Regarding population and the main question..
I believe the game has lost A LOT of players to the point of no return which mean i doubt the player base will grow (i could be wrong)
But i'd say with how things are going this is the new era of fun new events that are worth putting time into..
  • A lot of cheaters now , ranked mode is unplayable. Cammunity changed a lot. 90% of community is egys and turks.
    2-3 years ago > now.
  • I've been playing since 2009. The game has changed a lot since then. I also quit for a little bit and was wondering if it was worth it to invest my time playing again. If VIP's annoy you, armour, and high pinged players.. then the answer is probably you don't want to come back. If you still know some people playing crossfire, it's nice to chat with them and pub with them. Otherwise, it get's very boring at times.

    Well , that's a lie.
Support always help and always reply. And pretty fast.
There is a problem with cheaters. They are not getting banned.

Last time I checked, NA servers were dying like my dogs in Asia, and (no racism intended) Egyptian players overrunning the lobbies.

After midnight NA players join UK servers because NA1 is completly dead. Egyptians are overruning the lobbies like never before.
Is it worth coming back? My answer is NO.
I came back too recently, just to see everyone in my clan inactive. I will just play for a week and then probably I will quit again. My only hope now is CrossFire 2.
  • Try it. Download the game, play for the day, maybe a week, see if you enjoy it.
No one can really decide for you if you want to come back.

Also: As long as you avoid ranked, I'd say the game is still enjoyable, especially if you have friends that still play. I spent more time talking to friends yesterday than I did playing.
(I haven't actually played ranked since the first season, but I've heard that it's almost unplayable due to hackers)
  • If you're from NA, it's not worth it at all. This game is completely dead.
  • I'll let you know when CF reverts back from this crappy UI that made CF look like a different game.

Were you trying to sing that song? or what?

I like this new one, lol. What's so bad about it?

Some different views but I agree with the above views. The game has improved and is heading towards Community based i.e listening to the request of players in changes that will benefit the game. Yes we will find some hacker now and then but as we know there is no real answer to prevent hacking as codes are developed daily. Other than that best thing to do is Give it a try, take part in the upcoming events then decide whether to stay or move on. Yes there are Suggestions regarding Pings, modes, events and even weapons. Some have been considered such as Kick vote Removal then Bring it back to Certain modes, Coupon suggestions, BM system change, Different Events, Ribbon suggestion (one implemented as we speak for tomorrow) Bring back old modes, Permanent Ribbon weapon changes. Other thing would be implemented but a normal pace as it needs to go through many channels.

Best answer is to Give It a Try, you will never know unless you try again. Good luck

Nah it's not good for me. An advanced UI with 2009 in-game graphics? Something doesn't fit about it. I very much prefer the old UI over the current one.

I see a couple youtubers from different CF versions modding their UIs like in BM and lobby. I really want to do those but the new announcement on these things really blows. Not like I have anything worth in my acc :/
  • Unless you already have money put in an account I would say no, You can find other games which are more fun and have way bigger player bases and communitys.

I got on earlier at like 3-4 Pm EST and there was less then 500 players playing in na servers lol..
  • I came back after a year or two absence, and would say that Crossfire is doing alright. Servers seem to be more populated than when I played a few years back. You'll find a lot of the rooms will be 80% 120+ ping in NA servers.

Next to no hackers these days either.
  • Hey yo, I doubt anyone remembers me

I'm offended! I think I got MOD after you left haha
