Sending a Hacker Report

I'm really curious to know if submitting a hacker report even works, everytime I ask for an update usually months after the reporting the hacker, they say, "sorry we can not share anyones information" or something alone those lines. Okay, fair enough. But then I sent them another message saying "Does this system really work on reporting hackers?" And I get the exact same message, "sorry we can not share anyones information" ... DOES REPORTING A HACKER EVEN WORK?
