Staying updated to latest events.

I was wondering if there is an option to be notified by email or something in-game about new events. The Window on the bottom left screen of the client isn't updated as soon as an event is up. I have missed the first day of the Crossfire duel event, therefor missed the entire event.

Would appreciate it if there's a method\option to stay up-to-date with the events as soon as they are announced. Maybe a cellphone app would be quiet awesome.

    Haha. Made me smile :3

You don't need Facebook to access their Facebook page. Actually, I've found their FB page updates earlier than the forums. If you're concerned with missing events, then you may just want to take the time to check Facebook - just once a day or once every two days is enough.

Thanks but, you're missing the point of this thread\Request. If I have to keep checking the FB page then it's the same as checking the forums page everyday. I am not a CF nerd so I can keep checking daily for an event.

In League of Legends, the client is updated instantly with feeds or news about an event or changes. So I know what's going on the same day I log in and most of the time even ahead of time or schedule. Or When I am not even around my PC I get e-mail notifications about an event, sale or Patch. And add to that their chat Phone-app.

Just was wondering if the same was possible with CF. Maybe there is an option I can turn on email notifications?
  • There is no option at the moment for Events to emailed as alerts etc. However the community has suggested in the past for such an option. If you are a regular user of email this would be good.

Then I'll relay what I know:

GMs have already stated in the past there's no plans for an official app (for forums, notifications, and otherwise).
They have an e-mail newsletter, but no one seems to be getting any of the e-mails so it's broken and not working. I don't know if the e-mails even contain event information, since I've never received one. As far as I know, it's just a monthly newsletter, so it wouldn't have what you're looking for.

They do announce the events on the launch application as well as the bottom left hand corner during server selection, but if you're like me, then you don't really bother checking that since full details aren't available in those two places and clicking on them usually sends you to the forums anyway.

If you'd like to submit a suggestion, I'd take it to the Suggestion forum. They've been pretty good about listening to the user's requests lately.
  • I'm sorry Facebook and Twitter are the only way.
Launcher and In-game banners don't update on time, and not all events are included.
I think its time for you to start using Social Media. or you can just keep checking the announcements section on the forums.
Facebook is better for this case in my opinion.
  • Alright, thank you for the info guys. Appreciated.
  • Currently, the best channels to be informed about the events are:

    - Forums
    - Facebook
    - Launcher Banners

We are considering a more real-time notification system, however nothing is finalized at the moment.

    I thought about a Real-time Crossfire App
(Check out profiles, purchase zp quicker, get notifications for events and also a quick link to the forums...)
was debating on creating a app as a personal project but im not sure if i require permission from SG.
plus id have to make it on multiple platforms so yea XD too much work lol
