Replays

I cannot find the location where replays are saved. I have searched everywhere. They are not saved in the documents folder nor in the crossfire folder. even searching the name of the replay that i entered when i saved it wont pull it up.

Is it even on my hard drive?

  • It's in game, press storage next to the repair all button.
  • If I'm understanding you correct, my files are stored in My Documents > CrossFire. Do you not see a folder there?
  • Nope its not there. I'm trying to upload a replay to report a cheater.

I open up my computer to do a search through my hard drive. There isnt even a folder named "crossfire" in my documents. If i go to program files there is a folder that says z8games -> crossfire but that just takes me to all the games programs and .dll stuff. nothing in there that indicates a replay file.
  • Check here C:\Users\you\Documents\Cross Fire, should be a folder named "Replay" Also make sure in-game you have allowed replays to be saved.

I can save replays. The replays are visible when I go into the replay tab of storage in game.

I went to C:\users\me\documents and there is no crossfire folder. So i did a search for it and still nothing. I have no idea where the heck this folder is.

I found a crossfire folder located in program files not documents, but even in THAT folder there is nothing labeled replay.
  • Im wondering if re-installing the game would make it show up, but then i dont want it to potentially delete the replay if it DOES exist.
  • Is it possible you have certain files and folders hidden? Also if you log out and back in, do you still keep that replay?

I'd also try going directly to (as in copying and pasting this into a folder browser) :
    C:\Users\YourUser\Documents\Cross Fire\Replay
to see if it opens the folder. If the folder is hidden for some reason this should access it.

yes i just finished re-downloading the game and the replay is still visible in the replay tab of storage.

copying and pasting that in the browser folder doesn't turn anything up either. Its beginning to seem like it doesnt exist at all. this is so strange.

Normally I am not this persistent about submitting a replay, but l landed in a game late at night with a very well known player who was blatantly cheating.

I think its just very strange how there is no "crossfire" folder located in my documents at all. The only place i can find a folder named that is in program files -> z8games -> crossfire. Then even in there, there is no replay folder.
  • have u checked all ur disk's?

Yes.In theory, I should be able to just do a my PC search for the name of the replay that i saved it under, and that should pull it up right?

Because i tried that and its literally no where.

that's really weird. Sorry no idea what it could be. :(
  • Here's another possible thing to try....

the replays are saved as .CFR files....so search for .CFR it SHOULD pull up your replays as clearly they are saved to your computer somewhere. From there you will also be able to see the file path to your folder where they are saved.

Not sure why the folders and files would be hidden....and generally if they're JUST hidden they still tend to show up in searches...but sometimes that's not always the case...SOOOO just in case...you could always try the following if you haven't already.
What Operating system are you using? If it's windows 7 then then, if your folder is hidden, we may need to make it visible. To do this on Windows 7 go to:
Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Folder Options -> Go to the 'View tab' and you should be able to find a section for Hidden Files and Folders with the option to "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" check that...apply it. and see if your Cross Fire folder and it's contents show up. (on my W7 laptop the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" shows up as a sub-option before even going into the Folders Options section)

If you have Window 8/8.1 I'm not exactly sure though It's probably similar and a quick google search would get you info for W8.

    It's a little easier with Windows10
Go to 'This PC' (can probably do this while in your documents folder for that matter) and then go to 'View' at the top and an option for Show/Hide should be there. Although if you go to the 'View' section and choose Options at the very end it'll take you to a similar list like you would see on the Windows 7 way.

The only other thing I could think of is....are you the only user on that computer? If not....is your user account the admin account for it? If not then it's POSSIBLE that the Cross Fire folder is only viewable by the admin account for some reason. If that's the case see if whoever has the admin account can log in and search for the .CFR files or the regular file directory for the Replay folder.

^ THAT. I just logged on as the admin of my comp (I have two users on this comp, one for work and the other for personal. Work is the admin.

After logging on as ADMIN i found it exactly where it was supposed to be. Hella strange how it doesnt show up for other users though.
