Decided to check out CF - need some help

Hello CF Community,

I used to play CrossFire quite actively, I saw some updates that really interested me (ZM2, ZM3, removal of Kick Vote etc.)
and decided to install the game again.

However, half of the games I enter in the UK servers I get unbelievable high ping (600+) and sometimes the game freezes with the sound still going on.

Is there any way I can fix this?

Some extra info:
I'm from The Netherlands and my normal 'stable' ping is 10-15
This happens on both Wireless and Wired connection
Happens more in ZM but happens in all modes
Only CrossFire is affected by this

Game freezes are common among CrossFire players and the freezing will go away after a few seconds in-game. If your game freezes in the lobby or storage then you have to force close CrossFire down and restart it.

As for your ping issues, the last I heard was that the UK servers were located in Germany. Make sure that nobody is blocking the CrossFire connection for example, other programs in the background or your anti-virus or Firewall. You can also try to restart your router or running CrossFire as Admin will make the game run smoother.

I waited for 5 minutes in-game for the freeze to go away but had to kill the process, also I have disabled my anti-virus and firewall, retarted my router and made sure no ports or connections are blocked and still the same issue.

I'm also Dutch (south Holland) but I do not experience these problems. I only have those when Steam is auto-updating.
I guess you should make sure no background-programm is running!
Other than that, I can't help you

Servers are lagging for at least 2 months and giving giant lagg spikes, so maybe its not your fault.

Weird, I have no unusual background programs running, just the graphic card control panel, mouse driver, headset control panel and google chrome, but even when these are closed my ping randomly raises extremely high.

Hm, well I've sent a ticket to the support center, i'll see if they can help me, if anyone else had this problem let me know ow you've fixed it, I'd like to play the game again.

Try without the Chrome. It may eat a looot of resources. Basically just turn on pc and start CF to see if those laggs persist or try to reinstall it.

Long time no see Raven, how are u, i used to remember ur ign, maybe we met in 1 or 2 games old time, in my old acc, well, do u have problem of high ping? in this morning it seems the ping did go down, and i was thinking they fix it, but after little while it was sometimes go lag for all but at least not like 1 month ago when every 1 was flying all the time, even me in uk

please attempt a internet speed test using a server located in Germany

Hi there, i'm alright, thanks for asking, how are you? Yes my ping randomly goes up to 600+ for 0.5-5 minutes, it doesn't matter at what time though, just happens randomly

Just did 2 speed tests:
berlin 1 - 31 mb down, 16 mb up - 25 ms
berlin 2 - 36 mb down, 20 mb up - 24 ms

restarted router and reset it to factor default, still have the same problems
