Switching weapons

I think the switching between weapons should be faster, because when I dont have any ammo left, switching to the other weapon takes too long and I often die because of this.

Yea switching weapons is SUPPOSE to leave you vulnerable. It's part of the game mechanics and it just makes sense. That being said...you'll just have to get used to it and figure out the best times to switch....like if you see you only have 2 bullets left on your rifle go ahead and switch to your pistol because chances are if you've spent that much ammo on your rifle...you're not gonna kill in 2 shots. That way you don't engage an enemy run out of ammo mid-fire fight and have to switch while being shot at.

The only thing that gets me is the fair amount of lag that occurs when switching bags and i've also noticed people lagging heavily when picking up guns that were dropped by the dead or thrown to be traded. Like they'll pick it up, take 3 steps forward then freeze for 1-2 seconds then go back to the spot where the gun was that they picked up. These have both been happening to players that have decent FPS and Ping too. (the bag switching thing has always been like that but it seems more and more often on the 2nd thing mentioned.)
