ZM3 Tactics Thread

This is a brief writing for some ZM3 tactics on Nightmare mode. Some bosses are much easier than others.

Icy Gorilla (berserk also): Literally spam-shoot him, especially when he climbs to the roof. He will fall and not bash the enemy.

Boss 2 (berserk also): You can sit down and camp with this boss because it's an easy pushover doing little to no damage. Just pay attention to the minimap and battery bots.

Persona Easy: Spam-shoot him like Icy gorilla. Especially when it says he will breathe fire, because it will stun him.

Persona Hard: This was the main purpose of this thread because there is an easy way to dodge him. With his molotov:

- He will always face the area he throws his flame molotov into.
- He will NEVER throw the flame molotov into the area he is standing in at the current time.
- The areas will always face East to West, never North to South.

From this, it is best to stay aligned with him as he moves back and forth. This includes when he does the dragon strike. However the charge attack is basically undodgeable, however it is his weakest attack so that helps.

This thread was pretty impromptu but I may update it later on depending on my findings and others.

  • I've got one that I think most people know about but it's surprising how many don't:

For wave 12, don't chase the penguin. There are 4 entrances and 5 players. Have one person cover each door and a fifth person rotate as needed. I rarely hear the penguin squeak now and usually get buy with the penguin at full HP.
  • Well here's a tip for people who can afford it - Carry multiple Busters.

How can you not follow that little cute thing running around the map?
  • Also note that the final Persona seems to spawn in north gate
and try to stay in one area, not across the map, you will do less damage and the bosses will pick players off one by one

persona is the easy if you let your sentries do all the work and stay in the middle
it should be easy and persona would die in less than 5 minutes if you can stun lock him and have upgraded sentries.

as for harambae, you gotta let your sentries rekt him and his children or else he will use his jetpack and RKO you like randy

for the power rangers gargoyle of the gates, u surround it in a tight space and all the sentries facing it.
it's not that hard to dodge the waves if ur a surfer and u can swim
the robots are one hit kill and are easily rekt by aa-12
when master shredder spawns his ninjas, just let one person kill them... they are rekt cause ur the fye squad of ninja turtles and the rat is one player

I'd rather kill it as a boss than kill Harambae (RIP his fallen brothers Harambe and King Kong)

That's exactly what i was telling riceturtle :D
  • i did find Persona quite the nightmare on nightmare difficulty, Now Trump tower seems easier.
  • For me, the easiest way to defeat basically any boss was what Garrison already mentioned: have 3-4 People with sentry guns (preferably on a high Level). Also, at least one Player with a higher-level restoration flag is a nice-to-have.

The key is not to waste those on regular Mobs, you have your anti-zombie weapons for that. Instead, save them for boss rounds and have all players plant them in the middle of the elevator right before the boss round starts.
Even for the berserk bosses that do not spawn in the middle of the map. have the guns planted there. Most of the time, the bosses will be in range of at least one sentry gun and if you manage your movements so the bosses keep close to the middle, most or all of the guns can make short work of them in a very quick time.

That way, I was able to finish on Nightmare difficulty on the first try.

    best regards,
    Urkel

Or just let the penguin die because you'll save a minute that way. You surely don't need all the extra revive tokens and melee weapons, do you.
(Provided that I already opened a perm Persona Blade from a special chest, so I don't need another one)

I'd rather kill it as a boss than kill Harambae (RIP his fallen brothers Harambe and King Kong)

All three special bosses spawn in the north.

For the ice guy, use the special aa12 attack on the small ones, try to keep the big one in the middle, when he climbs to the roof you can't stop him unless you have a vip knife, in which case if you're being targeted you should just run away until your teammate shoot him down. If you don't have vip knife, hold a grenade (preferably smoke/flash and definitely not iron mace) and hope for your best that he won't chase up to you. Sometimes he will fall down and continue walking after a few seconds, but you don't take any damage.

for the robot guy, one person press back + left or back + right keys to make him circle you. Crouch once when he spawns the energy waves for a 50% chance of not taking damage. When he shoots multiple waves he'll shoot 8 waves, just crouch in place and have your teammates get out of the way. Count the waves so you start moving before he melees you. If you're low on health or ammo switch to another teammate in the center, and let the flag guy heal you back up. When he spawns things the outer teammates should kill them. This is the easiest one imo. (If you have max protection gear, all 10% plus the Persona Mask which gives 15%, you can probably just crouch below the boss, with full bulletproof and that kind of gear you take like 1 HP at a time... I personally have two 7% gears from ZM2 hard instead of 10% gears, but it works fine nevertheless)

for the final guy just keep moving and dodge the molotovs. when he does dragon strike or charge attack move to the edge. If you are all at the edge the dragon strike will miss, and charge attack will only hit one person. keep moving so he doesn't get you with the explosives. try to stay in the middle at all other times so your sentrys hit him.
  • Crouch once when he spawns the energy waves for a 50% chance of not taking damage.
I think a better way is to learn the animations. It crouches for the one you need to jump over, and it doesn't for the one you need to crouch under. The tip that tells you to crouch/jump is often wrong too.
  • In NIghtmare mode, when the berserk ice dude spawns, I like to put a sentry gun down where the little guys spawn so that the little guys get damaged so it's easier to kill them instead of focusing on them for the rest of the round.
  • My tactic is to shoot the BOTs, works 10/10.
  • It's easier when everyone uses the sentry gun, so you kill all the bosses easier.
  • Find a decent team, make a circle with 5 sentry guns on mid where the boss spawn and keep the bosses inside. GG WP :p
