Have you tried to re-install CrossFire? Follow these steps:- Control Panel -> Z8Games -> CrossFire -> Uninstall CrossFire
- Open Up My Computer
- Delete the CF directory (Program Files/Z8Games/CrossFire/)
- Delete the CF directory (<user>/Document/CrossFire/) (Make sure you backup any screenshots or replays you may have before doing this).
- Disable your anti virus
- Download the newest client from our downloads site
- Install the game from the new download
- Add the entire crossfire folder to your antivirus exceptions
- Re-enable realtime protection
I hope that works for you! -

Hmm... I can't see anything which could be conflicting with CF expect from "GameScannerService". Have you tried to close this down before starting CF? And does that work?
Thats what it will be. As soon as I saw it it's like, yup, there's the issue....close that down and try again. -
where do you go to turn off GameScannerService. And do i have to reinstall Crossfire after
Just close it down using the Task Manager. Click on the process and then click on "End". After you done this, try to open CF again to see if it works. If it doesn't, then you might need to reinstall the game again.
There should be a option in the application called "GameScannerService" in which you can turn the application off completely so it doesn't run in your background. -
where does the option show for the GameScannerService
Just kill the process which is called "GameScannerService".
Or you can disable it by: Task manager-> Start-up -> find Razer Game Scanner on the list -> click on it -> set to disabled.
