New here, came from CS:GO
So recently I came across this game while looking for something to replace counterstrike, since every update seems to make it much worse, and I wanna get out before it dies completely :P
So I'm wondering, what are some things that I, as a csgo player, should keep in mind while playing crossfire, and what are some things i should forget about my csgo experience to play this game properly
Any other advice also appreciated

I think it'll take a while before the rest of those 150K CS:GO Players run off.
The Recoil in CrossFire is very forgiving, especially when you compare it to something like Counter Strike.
No need to stop to take shots, and spraying usually yields good results.
Other than that? I think you are good to go.
Be aware however, that as soon as you are worth your Salt... well, I suppose most of the playerbase in CrossFire does not take kindly to someone that is better than them, and they may try to kick you. (And odds are quite likely that the kicks will go through.)
I wholeheartedly wish you an as much of a pleasant stay as possible. I'd like it more if the Game left a good impression on someone, rather than a bad one lmao -

New? I've seen plenty of people who've moved away from Crossfire to CSGO than the other way around.
Regardless, my best and honest advice would probably be to just to avoid this game overall. You basically are missing out of like 90% of weaponry if you can't afford to pay for cash/premium weapons, the game hosts a large majority of players from other regions than the NA/UK region, and the toxicity and abuse of the kick voting system is rampant. There is some mild pay to win items, but that heavily depends on your definition of what is pay to win. I guess it is kinda expected with a free to play game though.
Though if you do want to enjoy this game as a free player, there's plenty of opportunities that'll let you get some really good weapons. Zombie mode and ZM2 (defense) on various maps can provide you with great weaponry on every category. It's also a player vs AI mode so it's not particularly difficult. It'll provide you with quite a bit of variety.
As for keeping your mind of CSGO, I'd say to experience the modes that move away from the generic type game modes of death match and search & destroy. Just look at the general overview for game modes that can be found in the guide and try them out. There's too many to list and explain. -
The Russians from CS are basically like the Egyptians in CF. Where you're from matters, a lot, you may get into a few altercations with people about this. Having a big ego will help you fit in, pretty much like most games in general. The game itself is overrun by people that literally paid to have an advantage in game, but to be honest they're not too hard to kill. Always stick to a group of friends, as suggested before, get yourself a decent clan that speaks the same language. You can use the Clan Discussion and Recruitment page on this forum to look for a clan.
That's pretty much all you need to know, it's a pretty simple game. You'll probably pick up most of this within the first 2 days of actually playing the game. -
Don't stop moving while you're shooting
Don't hold angles (peek in and out)
Right eye dominance
Be prepared to do 27 when hitting someone in the head/not have good reg/get interped, don't shoot someone if they're in the air (being in the air is an advantage in this game)
Learn to bunnyhop, double jump, and asian walk
You have to use a polling rate of 125hz, and there's built-in mouse accel that you can't get rid of
Competitive channel is NA-5-8 -
Sweet someone new welcome to cf and the cf community!
I've never played csgo so I can't rally say what the differences are, sorry. But we have a lot of players that play both games and can tell you more. If you have any questions feel free to either post on the forum or inbox me.
I can show you around in game if you like. -
Okay, keep in mind this game is half half pay to win, You pay for VIPS, you get wallbang guns and have a huge advantage, but that doesn't mean they are good, it just means they have wallbang, and you don't. Laggers rule this game, they will eat half your magazine like it's nothing, Tapping is the most effective way to kill in this game, i would suggest getting REALLY good with the regular m4a1 and learning to non stop head shot people. Tapping is usually always better than spraying, even in close quarters if you get really good at it. Always aim for the head.
Learn how to Bunny hop, and double jump which is basically the step right after the bhop, get a good pair of headphones it will give you a huge footstep advantage, more so than in cs:go in my opinion since so few people Shift walk.
In my experience, the best DPI/ Sensitivity would be about 800-1000 DPI, and 0-20 sensitivity depending how fast you want to turn, anything over that will make you have little spots where your crosshair will just refuse to go thanks to the stupid built in acceleration of this game.
Sadly you are joining this game at it's very worse, it has never been this bad, and i mean, it is pretty bad right now. The Bullet register of this game has gone sooooo downhill, it's quite saddening, lots of fun modes like Ghost Mode are dead thanks to the hackers, So be prepared for hackers way more than CS:GO, and don't bother wasting your time reporting them, it's not like CS:GO where you have killcams and that built in hacker report thingy, you have to save your replay, and send it in to them, which is again, a waste of your time. Iv'e sent in solid evidience of people shooting my whole team through the map, and i still see them every great once in a while higher ranked months later still doing it. just don't waste your time.
There are multiple crossfire's, china, br, Vietnam, NA, etc etc, all of them are abused except China in terms of content and game developer support, don't expect anything fix wise, glitch wise, bug wise, content wise for MONTHS if not years. It took them about 2 years to fix the VIP gun melee bug where you could spam Reload and Melee and attack like 50 times in a second, expect everythingelse to take that long.
Also, crossfire 2 is in the making at this point, it could be a year, maybe 2 years or even 3 from now, they are focusing everything on that i assume.
You really did join this game at the worse possible time honestly, there is so much bad outweighing the good at this point in time.
You can win without spending money, i own 4 VIP's and still prefer my normal M4a1 over any other gun, it's just that reliable, you don't need wallbang if you can headshot. However, buy a female character, it's like 9$, they are harder to hit, and slightly faster and less big so less chance for you to run into invisible walls and corners and crap.
If you want any more advice lemme know, this is just what i came up with like in 1 minute lmao.
