Some Questions

So regarding the smilegate and remedy partnership announcement, that kind of puts us in the boat of crossfire 2! quote on quote, but that raises some questions from me.

How would that work out? Would it be like the Crossfire to Crossfire 2.0 merge patch, or would it be a completely new game?

And what would happen to the stuff we have on THIS game? Crate guns, vips, characters etc etc with all the money iv'e spent i would hope it would all go to that game aswell.. i meaaan cmon i bought to own, not to rent for a couple years lmao.

I would ASSUME that it would just be a super big patch and it would be crossfire 2 all of a sudden and you'd have all ur stuff u had with crossfire but the hit detection would finally be fixed, and graphics would look better, and there wouldn't be any 1000 ping magical head shooting laggers etc etc etc buuuuut i know better teehee, but for real i would at least expect to keep everything iv'e bought xD

  • It's going to be an entirely new game. Expect nothing from this game to be transferred over as the developers will most likely use a new engine anyway, so data transfer wouldn't work anyway.

The stuff you have on the current Crossfire will remain as is. In any case, you never really 'own' anything in this game. You're exchanging real money for intangible goods. You're basically paying for entertainment, as all games will die off eventually and all your investments will disappear alongside with it.

Pretty much this. CrossFire is going to be on a complete different game engine (Unreal Engine 3 according to news articles and other sources). Data transfer is unlikely to happen.

This version will always continue as along as it bring profit to the company and of course, we're like 6 months behind content compared to some other versions.
  • This is my fault when I publish the news :(

I am sure that we have a lot of time before shutdown
    So we can enjoy ....

Do we have an ETA on when this all is happening?
  • That is kind of depressing honestly... As excited for crossfire 2 as i am, there is no way it can make up for everything i have in this game... Iv'e played crossfire since it was crossfire lmao...

And the whole "Crossfire will still be there, everything you have will still be there" thing kinda blows, Crossfire is dead NOW. Weekdays, a max of 3 servers can be expected to be full, on weekends you get about 7 servers full. If there is a completely new better awesome improved crossfire, you think those 3 channels of people are gonna want to stick around? No.. They will play the old crossfire every great once in a while for the sake of memories and because its nostalgic. So sure, i will still have it but it wont be usable if there is no one to shoot! SO they might as well just close the game when the time comes...

So anyone know when crossfire 2 would be estimated? How long can i expect to still enjoy my virtual alien like m4's?

There is no ETA for this but many people are expecting closed beta to start around the end of 2017 or even sooner since CF2 has been in development since the end of 2013.

Like abel said there is no ETA on Crossfire 2's release...
but there is an ETA on how long crossfire (current) will be around...
the game will only be available to the public as long as it is licensed
wether the game gathers profit or not will not decide how long the game will last...
crossfire's license was recently renewed for a 3 year contract...

so enjoy this game for the next three years... And hopefully it will be licensed again
but since crossfire 2 will be way beyond release by that time there will be no purpose in continuing
    crossfire...

As as you may no I most likely will not spend money for this game anymore as I am waiting
for Crossfire 2 closed beta to be released...so I may spend my money on a better game..

i do feel bad for players that have spent a lot of money on this game because players who have gone so far will have to start a new...
including me... We will have to start a newer community and most players will have to recreate their "popularity"
but I feel even worse for players who have given up their education, work and other lifestyle for this game
(I can name a few) but anyway ya
  • I wonder if the staff will stay and if I keep my MOD :p

    We shall see.
