I suggest you to re-download CrossFire. Here are the steps:
- Control Panel -> Z8Games -> CrossFire -> Uninstall CrossFire
- Open Up My Computer
- Delete the CF directory (Program Files/Z8Games/CrossFire/)
- Delete the CF directory (<user>/Document/CrossFire/) (Make sure you backup any screenshots or replays you may have before doing this).
- Disable your anti virus
- Download the newest client from our downloads site
- Install the game from the new download
- Add the entire crossfire folder to your antivirus exceptions
- Re-enable realtime protection.
Good luck! And post back here with your results. -
If you have tried reinstalling, rebooting computer, and all the obvious things, you could try this if none of them work.
Note: This is for Windows XP, should be similar for other windows versions.
1. Right click on your desktop and click Properties.
2. Select the Settings Tab
3. Click the Advanced button
4. On the Troubleshoot tab, there should be a slider for Hardware acceleration.
If the slider is not set to full, this could be your problem, set it to full and try opening CF again. -
