Windows 10 Problem

I was previously running windows 7, but when I upgraded to windows 10, the game began to crash. The game would load and I can sign in successfully but shortly after in game, CF would crash. Any idea on how to fiz?

I have run CF under windows 7 compatibility but it still does not work. I am not sure if this is related to razer synapse, or AMD Radeon Gaming.

  • Well I have Windows 10 and CF works perfectly fine except for alt-tabbing. Anyways regarding your situation, have you tried allowing crossfire thru your firewall and your av's exceptions? If not do so then reinstall the game again, your AV might have not allowed the game to fully install causing your game to be corrupt and not letting you go ingame due to some files missing.
  • Anyone knows how to fix the Xtrap code field 08-0400-00000000-000? with no tool name mentioned? I have tried many ways of dealing with it and it still doesnt work. perhaps it may be my laptop is Dell. cause my bro runs windows 10 like me and he can access the game normally.

    CODE FIELD [08-0400-00000000-509]
This error is caused by Ati Tray Tools (or similar background programs that change the playingfield) which attempt to connect to Crossfire. In Ati Tray Tool's case, it was the 'FPS Counter' which caused this error. XTrap flagged it as abnormal thus blocking S4 League from launching. Disabling this 'FPS Counter' feature was enough to stop the errors. But in other cases you might need to close the background/3rd party programs completely.

    -Other programs known for this
    • ATI Tray Tools (Mentioned above)
    • FRAPS (Rare)
    • Playclaw
    • GameCam
    • XFire
    • HyperCam
    • CamStudio
    • amBX (FXGen

Btw, the brand of your laptop doesn't determine how cf will run.
  • None of them are presented in my laptop. since i run windows 10 i dont need an antivirus program or any sort of anti malware program. I have disabled windows firewall and defender, but there is no hope. by the way, it shows that the error was 000, not 509, so the solutions you said didnt apply.

Well alright, seems like the error code you gave me has no listed solution. So let's go through the basic process of troubleshooting your issue.
    XTrap monitors the following actions:
    - Modified Game Files
    - 3rd Party Programs which are not allowed
    - Dynamic modification of the program
    - Memory modifications

This can be where XTrap slips up. It is very well known to be very cautious as to what you are running alongside XTrap.

Programs know to interrupt XTrap are:
    1. Antivirus Programs that use SONAR technology and/or active background scanning.
    2. Software used for Mice and Keyboards. Most notorious is Logitech drivers and its software.
    3. Some Multimedia software: XFire, Steam, Music playing software
    4. Screen Recording software: Fraps, Playclaw, Bandicam.
    5. Overlays in Programs: VOIP overlays (E.G Ventrilo, Mumble), Fraps overlay (On occasion, usually never), XFire overlay.
    6. Some programs may not fit into these categories and may be some obscure or foreign program. This is for you to use your initiative to find and close this program.
