Game doesn't start up.

Hi guys.

It's been a while since I've playerd, a good 5-6 months.
Today I patched the game to the newer version. After xtrap and hgw game watcher are both completed and to 100%.
The game itself doesn't load.

I've already reinstalled the game for a proper 5 times now.
This simply didn't work.


Did I try to reboot my system already? Yes
Did I add an exception to my firewall? Yes
Did I try to run as administrator? Yes


Can anyone come up with a solution?

what steps did you take when you reinstalled?

I uninstalled everything with "revo uninstaller". Every single file from SSD location till the path in windows registry.
Then made a clean install from cf.

Is there any programs running in the background e.g. Raptr

If so, close them down. They could be conflicting with CrossFire.

Why do people use third party "uninstaller" programs or "driver" programs? It hurts my brain when people say it...

Well... chrome doesn't be a problem but have you tried to close razer synapse? And then starting CrossFire?

Also, did you add the CrossFire folder to your anti-virus exception list? I know you have already done it for firewall but you didn't state anything for your anti-virus.

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and assume this one is due to Synapse. Close that down and see if it works, like mentioned.

updated the last patch, now xtrap and hgw run to 100% and after that nothing happens.

If I try to start the game again it only tells me that the patcher_cf.exe*32 is already running. Nothing more.

At first, I thought Anti Virus or Firewall are the problem but after checking I could not figure out what is.

No other programs are running in the background. Also uninstalled and installed 3 times already.

You should of opened the "Task Manger" and killed the process "patcher_cf.exe*32" which would of solved running the CF problem.

Anyway, what exactly does happen? Do you get errors? Where does the game get stuck? etc...

Forgot to mention that I also did that. Opening TM and stopping the process would not help either.

I did not get errors. The game just would not start after hgw and xtrap fully loaded. Nothing happened, even after a few minutes waiting.

However the problem just changed for me because after my latest un- and installing attempt the new CF patch stops at either 99, 97 or 98% (about 8 times tried now in a time span of 2hours).

After each time trying nothing happens as well. Very odd.

Very strange indeed. Normally errors like that are fixed by adding CrossFire folder to the exception list.

I guess the only suggestion that I can give you right now is to send in a Support Ticket. Hopefully, they can find the issue.

I've got the exact same problem, also tried every suggestion in the thread and still nothing happens after HGW finished loading.
This problem also happend to me before the latest patch, and somehow it got fixed out of nowhere, but after the latest patch the problem is back.

Not sure if this is helping at all but I managed to get CF running again.

Was an accident that led me to it. Started the CF patch and it got stuck again. Switched User on my PC (did not log out) and got back to my User again and somehow my patch started to load to 100%. Could not believe it so I un and installed everything again to prove it. Same thing happened with my switching User trick.
