Crossfire won't load: Client file corruption detected, closing game client

The error I'm having is that whenever I run Crossfire, it doesn't load up and instead it gives me an error which says this:

I've tried numerous methods such as re-installing the game and running as administrator. Is there anything else I can do?

  • Completly disable your antivirus while installing CrossFire! That's important. Most AV Suites do mess up CrossFire while installing

This.^ Disable your anti-virus system before downloading CrossFire. Before you download CrossFire again, make sure you uninstall CrossFire AND delete the CrossFire Folder. Then add the CrossFire Folder to your exception list on your anti-virus. After you have done this, you can enable your anti-virus and run CrossFire as Admin.

I hope that works for you.

Just tried this twice and the same error still comes up when I try to load the game. Does anyone have any other suggestions? It's been happening for a couple days now.

Well, it looks like something is conflicting with CrossFire... Have you closed down any programs which may conflict with CrossFire?

    Yes, I tried that.
I didn't find a solution to the problem; also, a system restore didn't work.
So I decided to re-install the whole OS again and it started to work again. However, I did get this error once again but only that one time.
It could be the physical hardware components of my computer such as the RAM, but I don't see how this would give Crossfire an error.
Thread can be closed now, the game loads up fine.

I'm glad the problem has been fixed for you but it's a shame that you had to re-install the whole OS just to make CrossFire work. lol

Anyway, your computer might not meet the minimum requirements to play CF. Did you check that?
