What internet source do you use?
Is it Wi-FI, LAN, Ethernet...? I'm just wondering and hoping for some tips or even a how-to on setting up and using a LAN network or Ethernet, because my ping is 109 and at regular 2-3 minute intervals I spike to 1k. Any way to lower my ping or stop the spiking? Thanks.

We do have a password (my family), and it's secured to the router that's down the hall maybe 30 feet from my computer. I guess the 100 ping is just from my location (west coast). I get about 30 ping on the WC server. And I've heard that spiking is unavoidable with wi-fi, is this true?

wireless to the router downstairs. 36-44 ping, in east coast, spikes to 100 every so often for 2 seconds. make sure it is a secure connection which has a WPA encryption password (so no one can steal your wifi)
For those who has WEP encryption, some routers have MAC filter so its harder, i have MAC filter so i dont worry unless someone clone the MAC to one registered :P. -
I have 2 computers(one is like 2001 old... really sucks), 1 laptop, and a PS3... and all of them uses the same router but we don't spike that much, unless someone is downloading.
The PS3, Laptop, and one PC is on wireless. The other PC is connected by ethernet.
My ping is 55... used to be 32. -

I use wireless too, and my ping is 13, but spikes randomly to 500, 1000, even 2000 >< Unfortunately my router is downstairs and my computer is upstairs so I can't use an Ethernet cable as a solution. Do anyone know any other solution for this? My house isn't that big. I'll say it's approximately 4 - 5 meters diagonally? Thanks -
