What kind of graphics card does he have?

If it's an ATI Graphics Card, this might help.



Navigate to the spot as shown in the Screen, and enable scaling to fullscreen.

If it's Intel, this might help.



Navigate to the spot as shown in the Picture, and choose "Scale to Fullscreen"

As for Nvidia, I have no clue.
