Ghost Mode Tricks and Tips
Didn't see any guide up there and I know a lotta people struggle with GM and kinda getting annoyed at the amount of people calling my clan hackers...
My examples/pictures will be of Laboratory because that map is awesome >:O
GR:
Seeing ghosts: (some minor things)
1. you ARE visible across the map (to an extent)... EX: sniping from Central Bridge to BL top opening
2. you ARE visible in the vents like at Sites A and B
3. you ARE NOT visible when you bunny hop perfectly (as far as I'm aware), but you probably will mess up some time or another (NOTE: THIS IS NOT SPEED HACK FOR YOU IDIOTS WHO THINK EVERYTHING IS HACK)
4. holding CTRL and pressing space bar (crouch jumping) without moving is NOT visible (moving while crouch jumping IS visible)
5. just pressing space bar without crouching IS visible
6. standing in the light is visible (see pictures)
Hearing ghosts: (this is hard to do in public matches because a lotta people just spray their hearts out)
1. distance is affected by how you hear the ghosts (obviously, the further they are, the quieter it is [vice versa])
2. pinpointing, for lack of a better word, is possible. (of course, you can't exactly know where they are, you just have to use your brain)
3. you can hear on the left and right. simply, if the ghost sounds like he/she's coming from the left, shoot left...
4. footsteps are also hear-able (which is why they made Footstep Down) but it could also be your ally
5. unless people shift-walk in the water, you can hear them sloshing through
6. as with water, unless you shift-walk on metallic surfaces (such as vents), you can be heard
7. you can hear the slash/stab of melee weapons but it's pretty soft and usually you'd already be dead
8. breathdown is pretty weird because sometimes it feels like the ghost's breath is coming from another place or it's quieter...maybe it's just me....
Gamma:
Well when you take pictures in CF, they automatically go to a certain brightness, I can't really show you.
But I personally use around 75-95 Gamma, truthfully, I don't think it changes the way ghosts look, it just makes the background duller or brighter. So do whatever you want...
Shooting at the ghosts:
1. this is pretty tough because a lot more people lag now, or so it seems...
2. distance is always some annoying factor when you shoot at ghosts. I'm sure a lot of you noticed but the shovel seems to have a "lag" shot when you're being hit, if you're the one hitting some poor guy, you may not see it...
3. the type of gun you have doesn't make that much of a difference, I've seen almost every gun used in GM. I will however tell you that shotguns (shotties) aren't exactly as good for GM as a lotta people think. If a ghost is running away and it's a good distance apart, a shotty isn't gonna get it...
The gun that you know how to use well is the gun you want...something with low recoil, high damage (you wanna kill the ghost before they can even get a slash on you), decent ammo and decent firing rate.
Low recoil is obvious, you don't wanna be shooting at every inch of the background and miss the ghost. High damage, for obvious reasons (if you don't know why then....wow...). Decent ammo, a lot of the times, your ammo will run out before you want it to, that's why you should ALWAYS be reloaded and carry extra clips. And lastly, rate of fire because, something like Uzi will run out before you kill a ghost and it'll come back to haunt you >:O
BL:
Hearing GR:
1. GR also have footsteps, and it's helpful when you know they're coming so you can get your killer blow ready
2. Unless the gun has a silencer, you can hear it from a good distance. Using that, you can tell if they're coming toward you or going the opposite way. Same thing with bullet trails, if you see some bullets fired into the wall, that probably means they hear you or they're cautious.
3. being killed by a grenade doesn't happen too often, but always try to run away from them, 10 HP could make the difference between win and loss. NEVER EVER stand right next to, or on the C4 when it's planted, that's just stupid...
4. GR also slosh through the water, so if you don't see 'em but you hear them, get ready to bring out the killer blow
Seeing GR:
Rushing isn't always a bad option, from a GR view, it looks pretty bad-ass. But you should always try to be patient and wait until the enemy comes to you...
1. GR always cover the defuser but there's always a way around that. If the defuser isn't very smart, they'll start firing at you, which gives the C4 time to blow up even though you die.
2. A lotta people in public matches spray and it's good to use to your advantage. If they're alone, wait until they reload, and then strike. It's also good when some idiot starts spraying when there's breath around and they don't know it. It'll give you some cover, especially if they're spraying in the wrong direction.
I think that ends it for this guide for now...If you wanna add something, be my guest. Also, if I got something wrong, please correct me, I'm fairly certain that all my information is correct but you never know...

hmm, iunno if i do...maybe i do...but it'd probably be hard to explain, wouldn't it.... -
*what i would add*
GR- 1) get headphones and listen for breathing, the louder it is, shoot where the sound is coming from and when u see blood u've found them, no kill
2) ghosts can bunnyhop, so don't camp. If you are camping the bomb try to keep mobile and circulate the area listening for breathe
3) try to keep the spraying to a minimum, don't spray unless you hear breathing. If you hear breathe coming from multiple places don't spend too much time trying to find th ghosts, when you are shooting and looking for them you ar vulnerable to attack. It also maims your fellow teammates hearing
4a) Defusing- Always cover the defuser, if you are alone and defusing- defuse, when u hear footsteps rushing at you and you see no one on your minimap, jump away from the bomb and try to kill the ghost.
4b) If you are defusing with good cover, trust that your team mates will kill the ghost before he kills you. NEVER stop defusing unless you are killed while you have sufficient cover
5) when a ghost rushes; no matter where you are, jump away from your current location, first away from the ghost, when he almost catches up to you (ghosts DO run faster) jump toward him and pass him then run that way
6) when being rushed by multiple ghosts- kill as many as you can with one magazine, when it runs out (and you do NOT have a fast reloading gun such as mp5) switch to your side arm and kill some more while dodging all on coming ghosts
BL- 1) best thing you can possibly do is buy an axe or shovel, shovel always one hit kill, axe always 1 hit to torso or head, 80 to legs; this will make it easier to rush because if you have knife it is harder to kill them, may take multiple attacks before they are dead, meanwhile they are shooting the sh1t out of you, with shovel they have less time to react
2) learn to bunny
3) buy breathe down
4) when you jump from a considerable height, press space right before you land, which will make you take no damage and make no noise. I can pin point you just by hearing where you fall
5a) bomb is planted - only 1 gr present in the room at the time, stay hidden until you hear him defuse, then bunny/rush and kill him, if he jumps away DO NOT chase him, simply run behind a wall or separate yourself from him. then repeat til explosion or he dies or another comes
5b) if he has sufficient cover- never expect that he will stop defusing and shoot you, bunny/rush him, if he stops defusing then back down and retreat and hide, if he does not stop defusing you need to kill him (also helpful if you have axe/shovel here because its pretty much always guarenteed kill so you don't spend much time killing the defuser) once you kill him do not go for his cover, run and hide again and repeat for any other defusers there may or may not be
