HGW checks files, launches then closes.. after i changed from Full Screen to Windowed

pretty much title, today i thought I'd change cf to windowed mode, as my monitor is big and the menu doesn't look very sharp if its in full screen.
as soon as I pressed Save/OK, cf shut down, now i cant do anything to get it back.
I tried rebooting my pc, nothing.
I tried reinstalling the game, nothing.

I thought I'd look for a setting.ini in the directory, but i couldn't find anything.

Please how do I fix?

I have a similar issue...when I login i get a "UNKNOWN ERROR" or LOGIN NAME ALREADY LOGGED IN"...i also used windowed mode last time I played..2 days ago...someone help please!!!

Have you tried changing your screen resolution ? , sometimes that helps, ensure all the video card drivers are up to date.

Your issue with ID error is temporary.. CF is aware of it and lots of people experiencing it, sit tight hopefully will be resolved soon..

I dont think changing my screen resolution would help, everything is up to date, i was playying crossfire a few hours ago...
i just need to put it back to full screen mode, which is not possible for me to my knowledge.
