Calling out crossfire
calling out cfna gms to make a change and bring a competition to the uk community or to relinquish all rights to the uk players to allow them to play esl in cfeu ive been playing cf since 2009 and i dont think its right that if we want to play esl we have to play in na server with 100+ ping and have to play at 1am+ so really think about it help us build the community and support the game [IGN] peanut

I think this has to do with your lawyers more than the GMs at Z8Games. Think maybe you should try calling them.
I don't know what you're thinking but the NA side in fact, has been lackluster. Highly doubt management would look toward UK when esports for NA is on the edge of death. Knowingly, this version does have license rights for the UK; but I don't think that fact would really kill the supposed 'focus' for awhile, at least not until NA has a chance to recover (if it can, still another question). -
well if thats the response that you get try calling your lawyers no wonder the na scene is dead and by helping the uk community grow you will be helping the game in general there is more uk teams than na teams in egl for the last few weeks that just shows how the uk community is growing without the help of gms but with he help of them the game willl be able to grow faster and better for all with 2.0 coming out now it would be a good way to start fresh and regenerate the life into this game

I don't speak for the GMs, and all that is above them in Smilegate as a company. There's no doubt a lot of things keeping CF back from being a popular esport internationally. I don't have much to say about that as I think it's pretty obvious why. Nothing I can do about it either, and I think Z8 are unable to do either on their own. That's all I'm saying.

PENTA (the team representing Europe) are in the Finals of CFS in China, the UK is separate to CF EU in terms of Cross Fire due to licenses and we need our own competition that's almost exclusively for the UK. If players from outside of the UK want competition then they already have it on CF EU. At the moment we still need to focus on increasing our UK player base and I hope at some point we'll have tournaments held for us that require 3 UK players per team.

Heres the thing josh, what u say does makes sense in the longer run. But currently pretty much most of the teams have like 1 or 2 UK players apart from mine and ur team. And we cant ask non UK players not to participate in tournys simply because they have put time + money into this version and part of the the existing community we already got. Now heres what i dont understand about what MOD Fizzeq said, i mean its pretty obvious UK servers are more popular than NA servers, so if u really want this version's competitive side to get boosted why not simply organise something for the UK/non UK players. i mean currently it seems as if CF NA + UK is known for CF NA, with 3x more UK server players than NA and us being left out in the cold being able to do absolutely nothing, other than with a option to get some lawyers....
cmn now you guys are MODs for a reason, to handle the forums and to be the voice of the community. Hopefully you do have some powers, i hope... -
Lost a couple of my replies Who said anything about asking, our tournaments just need to have restrictions that teams would have to follow, which is a difference from the ESL EU section that completely rejects players who live in the UK, based on licenses. Players can play on their accounts overloaded with ZP if they want but unfortunately there's more to it than that and that doesn't qualify them for competitions. Every version has licenses for certain countries and those countries are provided with competition, CF EU already has theirs and that's why the UK is the focus. You're forgetting ACE1T (they simply can't play on Sundays, BGL may eventually move to Friday) Subtlety was a full UK team when I was in there as well. When you think about it like that we have like a max of 20 UK competitive players who live in the UK compared to 50+ over there. I know that this option wouldn't really include Ireland as they're part of CF EU but we'd need this restriction, if we didn't for example we'd have 3rd-4th place teams from EU trying to win prizes / qualify for events here. Z8games already have account restriction/blocks in place and they need to correlate with the competitions (if we get any) I'm sure exceptions could be made, such as account creation date, citizenship and more, I'll personally try to help with all that.
Also peanut, we're actually not allowed to play ESL on this version either apparently:
"Attention: Only legal residents of the USA, Canada and Mexico are allowed to participate in the North American Go4Crossfire. These rules are for Go4Crossfire weekly cups and are subject to change for the Go4Crossfire Monthly final."
I've been told by someone in particular that it's a ping issue, which clearly isn't the case for me as I have 89 ping from the UK in their servers. Even if we were allowed we'd have to play 5 hours ahead which would be a clear disadvantage. I would obviously rather for Z8games to allow players from the UK, which is part of the European Union, to actually be able to play on CF EU and compete in ESL there, but I very much doubt that will ever happen. If we're going to have any competition we need a UK player base with restrictions. I know a couple teams that want to play with there friends etc but those are the only two options that I can see working. Z8 just shouldn't have the UK license, maybe a server in Europe (or better yet the middle-east) to gather up some revenue but not the power to keep us on this version. We're part of Europe but we have to play this if we live in the UK.
