I have a very good computer that more than meets the requirements
all drivers are up to date
What do you mean suspect programs? What is this?

ok so my husband fixed the issue....I was running windows 10 pro insider preview evaluation copy build 10576....so he rolled me back to the the non preview build and the game works fine now
