Outrageous high ping

Hi, my name is slateon and I live in vegas. I have cox connection with 6 mps download speed and 18 mps upload speed on the ookla speed test. I will be playing crossfire and spike upto like 1000+ during a shadow game mode I spiked to 4900 and this will happen so constantly. I scanned my computer and didn't find any problems. Please help.
