Windows 10 Mouse

Updated to windows 10 and started getting mouse lag plus the old mouse acceleration that wasn't that bad got way worse from 7 to 10 so now the game isn't playable. Anyone else get this issue? Searched the forums and couldn't find anything like it.

  • That's technically a technical support issue.

    Try one of these:

-Buy a wired mouse and give the wireless one to your grandparents (unless you use a touchpad, which in that case I hope natural selection is still going).

    -Try another USB port.

-Reinstall drivers for mouse and chipset.

    -Update windows.
  • I never downgraded to Windows 10 so I don't know how to find the same options in that OS but go to control panel mouse options, pointer options, make sure your pointer speed is the same as it was before you updated. Also there's a box that says "enhance pointer precision", if the box is checked it turns on pointer acceleration, unchecked turns it off but CF has a degree of acceleration built into it.

For mouse lag if you're using a wireless mouse the distance between the USB receiver and the mouse is the biggest issue, my Logitech G602 came with a USB extension cord and once I started using it I haven't had a single problem. The receiver used to be about 3 feet from my mouse pad plugged into the back of my comp tower but with the cord it's about 1.5 feet away. I think part of the problem as well is that modern CPU's make a sizeable EM field that can interfere with wireless signals, with most you can hear a faint wine in your headphones caused by the processor's EM field, getting the USB receiver away from that field seems to help just as much as closing the distance between mouse and receiver.

Thanks but these are all generic answers that would only help someone that is new to PC gaming. I have a wired mouse and all drivers are updated. This is a game issue with windows 10 and im simply looking for a fix for it when i didn't see anything in the technical support forum. I just wanted to say it is only crossfire that has mouse lag issues. The mouse acceleration is built into the game and anyone can go test and find out it exists (even though it got worse with windows 10).
