what the hell is Wins8.1 pro? How to run cf on it?

Just received my laptop from fix
This idiot guy installed wins8.1 instead of eins7
its really fcken wins8.1
I can't really do anything in it
Even I can't play cf..
I can't do anything
Please help me before I go smash this idiot face!!!!!!!!!!

Microsoft stopped making Win7 discs a long time ago, you're lucky you weren't forced to take Win10.
Luckily I never downgraded from Win7 so I don't know how it works on the later versions but you should be able to run CF under compatibility for Win7 if you have any problems. Right click on the CF launch icon, then properties, Compatibility tab, run under compatibility for Win7. Don't go further back than Win7 though, a while back some people actually got false hack detections for running on XP. -
Didnt work. SadlyCrossFire should work on Windows 8.1/Pro.
Step 1: Download CrossFire
Step 2: Install CrossFire.
Step 3: Run CrossFire as Admin.
Step 4: Click 'Start' on the launcher.
Step 5: Enjoy.

Make sure your anti-virus or Firewall is not blocking CrossFire.
P.S. What do you mean when CrossFire isn't working? Do you get any kind of error? If so, what error? -

It sounds like you may have corrupt file in your CrossFire folder. I suggest you un-install CrossFire and delete the CrossFire folder. And then re-download CrossFire again. -

Windows 8.1 is actually pretty good, been using it for a while now (Haven't gone to windows 10 yet because of all the spying stuff). There shouldn't be any problem to run CF on it, even without using compatibility mode.
Only thing left to do is redownloading/installing. -

What cpu does it have? How long does it sit at the 1/4 loading bar for?
My old cows uuh I mean.... clan mates can take 4-5 minutes to load their first game of the day, then only 15-30 seconds for games after that. -
I change the resolution to 1360x720I have windows 8 and i can play crossfire.
Literally all you have to do is go to options and change settings from 800x600 to what ever you want.
Its your non-existent brain that needs a fixing.
and when I press join. It stops at the quarter?
