Looking for help on gaming pc.

I'm not a huge tech guy but I'm confident enough to say that gaming PCs are over $700-1000 at minimum. You might be able to strike a good deal with manufacturers if you have connections, but even a low-end optimal machine for gaming specifically will be over $600. Money can buy you quality. I think that high-end ones over $1000 are probably out of consideration range?
Laptops in general, can be decent for gaming. But if you're looking to mainly play games then a desktop PC is your better choice. PCs are more durable imo. Laptops are portable, but with your budget I don't think you could even snag a durable one. Some HP laptops are very cheap; I've seen products at $250 but have terrible specs. Like I said, money can buy you quality.
With my limited knowledge of computer tech and choice, I'd say maybe save for another 3-4 months until the holiday season and see what your budget is? Christmas savings can be pretty nice. Also if you're thinking of building a PC, getting specific parts during sales is probably your best choice. Use sponsor codes for specific outlets; even a 5% will be a decent deal if your budget is on the lower end. -
You can get a decent PC for $500. I suggest desktop for gaming your not gonna get anything good with a laptop at that price range. Your going to have to build your own btw, for cost efficiency.
And always, for the parts on the PC, I suggest going to an actual tech forum not CF forums. People have way more knowledge there compared to here in my experience. I suggest posting in a few different tech forums. -
That budget is to low for a decent gaming pc, I suggest taking it easy on the VIPS and save up for a budget of 700minimum. Unless you only want to play crossfire ofcourse.
If you want the most performance per euro/dollar build your own PC and get the best GPU you can afford. Also I would suggest going for AMD Instead of nvidea because with a low budget you will get better performance using AMD.
If you have any friends that have experience with building pc's ask them to help you and build it together, atleast thats how I did it. There are also ALLOT of tutorial about this on youtube. -
I understand where you guys are coming from for sure.
I've been looking around and I've found some decent desktops for $400-500.
The processors I've been finding are great with 3.0-3.5 GhZ and are quad core.
But the GPU I find in them is to be lacking. I don't want integrated graphics, I want a physical card that I can change anytime later in the future if needed.
That's why I asked for some help in researching desktops in that price range. Another thing is definitely the internet. Isn't that desktops now adays should have a Bluetooth Wireless Card in em? Where I don't need to buy a USB Adapter for Wifi or even a long cable to stretch to my bedroom? That's another issue I find with Desktops.
Laptops that are cheap of course are gonna have crappy specs. I prefer laptops over desktops because I like mobility but I also want to be a tad bit more involved in the CF Community. So reliability and FPS comes into play.
My goal is at least 220+ FPS stable enough to record gameplay to make montages, reviews and or other things.
Another game I like to play and want to play again is World of Warships. (Already up to Tier 4 Battleship but can't play due to this crappy laptop)
So, GPU definitely plays in that picture.
2 things of the main compartment I truly care about.
1. The Processor
2. The Graphics Card
critical for me: Bluetooth Wireless Card (For Wireless Internet) -
Here you go
Another one
How much ram do you need
I started watching this guys video last night and this guy knows what he is talking about and he helped me a lot
Jayztwocents and this guy is bit funny but he knows what he is doing. -

I took some time digging through the internet and found this:

Looks pretty nice to me with good specs. -
Prety cool site.

An 8350 is by no means the same performance as any i5, lol.
The difference is minimal, on some tests the 8350 even scores higher. Not to mention the enormous price difference. -

You're judging by synthetic benchmarks? Sorry to inform you but those are absolutely meaningless. The difference is hardly minimal, it's night and day. The IPC of the 3570K (or any i5 or i7 chip alone for that matter) simply demolishes AMD's garbage technology.

OP: You can build a decent gaming desktop for less than $500 and beat the crap out of all gaming laptops (and consoles) but you gotta build it yourself!
You can find plenty on YouTube and online for under $500.
This one is pretty damn good
Mainly, you'll want to pick a decent graphics card that's good for that budget then the CPU and then everything else.
With this budget I'd recommend these cards for best price to performance:
For these cards you will not need more than a 500 Watt power supply (PSU):
nVidia GTX 750 Ti
nVidia GTX 950
R9 270x
If you can punch the pig for a few hundred more you can get these cards but they will require a beefier power supply:
GTX 960
R9 280x
Have fun and build a PC, laptops are overpriced and crappy for gaming. -

I built my computer with the same graphics card and processor for $650 Canadian. I get about 140 fps in a full game and 200+ in 1v1s.
I wouldn't recommend the one you chose out as it comes with a 2gb DDR3 graphic card and a 1GB DDR5 AMD r7 250 would be much better.
If you can build a computer buy this combo. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2307784
Replace the graphic card with this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127788&cm_re=gtx_650-_-14-127-788-_-Product
Throw in a hard drive if you need more space and use the SSD for bootup.
A built in wireless card like you said is hard to find and is rare in gaming computers, guess the manufacturers assume gamers will use an ethernet. Like me you'd have to use the wireless USB stick.

Since I have wifi interference issues I have to pull out a long ethernet up into my room . -
Ah okay, thanks for the detailed explaination and examples proving your statement. Especially the "functioning brain" part was very informative.

Makaveli I'm thinking about that DIY combo you posted. All I would need is an OS right? Seems like a good price, all I play is crossfire. What kind of FPS would that setup get?
thoughts on this using choosemypc:
AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6 core processor
Gigabyte GA78LMT-USB3 mATX AM3+ mobo
2x4GB RAM
OCZ ARC 100 120GB SSD
MSI GeForce GTX 750Ti 2GB GC
Fractal 1100 Mini Tower Case
SeaSonic 520W Power Supply
add windows $100
Total $553~
Is there a good place to cut corners? -

No- you don't want to "cut corners" when getting a PC - I'd recommend a bigger and better brand PSU too - if that goes kaput, it can take everything else with it.Also worth looking into a HDD to act as storage, 120GB goes fast when windows install takes up ~20GB...
I'd recomment a 650W PSU - EVGA, Corsair or something similar - big named brands... -
Thanks for the input. Yes I agree about not wanting to cut corners, I wouldn't do that with my car so not with a computer. What I should have really asked is there something I can save on since its just for crossfire? I'd like a solid starting point for future decent performance on games but right now this is the only game I play online and the current laptop I am using needs to retire.
