Another solution

I have watched Purvis' video about sending a message to SmileGate and I've decided to speak out myself on a few suggestions that I have that could improve the game. Please note that this is something I <-- believe could benefit the competetive state of the game, but I might be wrong.

This is something I've thought about after CF EU were created, To Make a competetive client for CF, where basic items like armor, default GP guns, defuse kits and such are free. A client with servers for Asia, Russia, Europe, America so on so forth, based purely on competetive play. Let's say an American team wanted to face a European team for some matches; they would have to switch versions and spend time and money ranking up and getting guns. Wouldn't it be alot better to just have a client for the whole competetive community of CF?

A dream I have is to have an advanced version of the "Find Match" mechanic already existing in the game (on the client I'm on about), where the mechanic would instead of finding a random match for you, find a random scrim for you, kinda like the Versus matchmaking on ESL. This would bind the community even more, were IP restrictions were meaningless and where UK players could actually play competetive CF just like any other country. Practise matches would be easier to find, cups would be easier to create and Pugs would be a regular thing.

This is something I believe could actually happen. However, I understand SmileGate is a business, and this would probably cost alot to make and maintain. However, history of competetive games has shown us that the gaming companies that make the most money are the ones that listens to the community.

Incase you have some arguements on why this wouldn't work, please let me know so we can further discuss this.

  • It would cost a ton of money to make and maintain like you said...

What's in it for SmileGate on the business side of things? Where would they make their money?

And don't tell me they care about the competitive community's appreciation. You should know that by now, if it isn't profitable (new skins, crates, events, coupons, ZP), they won't release it...
  • As already mentioned, this is a suggestion on what COULD be done.

I am definently familiar with SmileGate ignoring the competetive community. This is, in my eyes, because the community aren't gathered at all. There is no form of communication between American teams and Asian teams for example. I have seen what a bound community have been able to do before, which is why I believe in this. If we get alot of people to give this thought attention, the company wouldn't be able to ignore it.

It's the thought that matters. Actions are in SmileGate's hands. Even though they probably wouldn't copy this exact thing, they could take inspiration from it and make it their own.
  • They could make this kind of version of crossfire a paid version, so you have to pay to sign up and play, that could be a good way to make money from a version of crossfire that only contains esl guns and no buying zp.
  • You are suggesting a pay to play funding, to get away from players that pay to play in other channels....
  • thats 2 different pay to play, one you pay to PLAY the game(the paid version) and the other is pay to WIN(current version).
