UK scrim community (very emotional)

Hey UK5.

The UK competitive/scrim community is dying again. UK5 is full of random players and scrimmers are just gone. Pub rooms went from "semi-boring" to "funless sh*t". Half of my friendlist is playing in UK4 cos it doesnt even matter, does it? One of my friends told me he was wondering of bringing PuGs back to NA. But how is he gonna do that in this server? Well, he UK5 is done. Theres no way they will just disappear. So my point is, that we should move back to UK3. Thats the only way to avoid these kind of players. For a while atleast. Remember when we moved to UK5, that was the same case.

So please share this thread and convince your friends to move back. UK5 has no future and people would leave the game completely. I mean they will do it anyways but lets just slow it down a bit.
Your stonek.

  • Agree, but thats the short term solution. Ill bet in like another 8-10 months we will have the same discussion again about UK community dying because of random people scrimming etc. Would be nice if someone could find a long term lasting solution to this, like BGL. It was really fun and easier for most of the UK community because of the fact that some people cant play in NA servers.
  • The solution(s) are rather easy to come up with. The hard part is actually getting people to +1 vote it. We should, as a community, pressure Z8Games into making an own competetive forum for the UK Server competetive community, or a gathering place of some sort. I am also down for hosting a website as long as it's supported by Z8Games. What the UK Competetive community truly needs is a gathering place where you can find scrims, teammates, teams and where pugs will be announced and hosted. I can submit a forum thread if I spot enough interest with my ideas.
  • I'm with spekk. I got bored of playing the same horrible people I could 20bomb without sound. That is why I am only pubbing in uk5 now. Watching the streams of egl does not give me a "wow"-feeling either. Could most likely at least get to the finals with 4 random pubers from uk4. Well, if anything is going to happen either FPAS or dot1Q gotta do something. They are currently the only respectable uk clans/teams.
  • To be fair.. there is no solution. How long do you think it is going to take until the random egyptians will join ''the gathering place'' and f*ck up everything, I don't want to be racist or anything but it's the bitter truth. I think we should just give up UK5 and move on to CFEU.
Z8Games should rename the servers and move them to North Africa, then hopefully the egyptians will stay out of CFEU.

Feel free to tell me if I'm wrong.

Have you even seen how empty cf eu is compared to cf na? When I started playing cf eu around 2011-2012 there were over 100 people searching for versus scrims. Now you get a maximum of 15 players, all the same, everyday. Not to mention the bravo 8 server which is a ghosttown 18 hours a day.
  • Not saying eu has players but just a place for us to scrim without annoying randoms

I'm definitely down for this. We will need a lot of people, but it could work.

You're wrong. i don't really think they will move servers to Africa. Which would definitely make egyptians follow us to EU. Some of them are there already.
  • How bad is this we are looking for solutions to get rid of egyptians lol
  • Sounds like a good idea. Not sure about this 100% but arent all the Mods are from NA? If this version is "Na and UK" then we should at least have some MODs from UK scene who actually understand the struggle UK 5 have atm. Either way if u could do such a thing Spek, that would be pretty nice :)
  • We used to have Mod dot. I don't know if he still plays but he used to pub quite a bit in uk 3/5. He is swedish.
  • Guys why bother? I would be on board if at least one of you lived in the UK, but most of you live outside of the UK, in other European countries licensed by CrossFire Europe. Instead of wasting your time I recommend you work at improving CrossFire EU. If you don't think you're good enough at the game to play CF EU, then put in some time to get better or quit all together. I share no sympathy for you because you can just play on your own version. Only the people who live in the UK have this problem, as they're limited from competition on this version as it's only for NA players, but have to play here due to licenses. The competitive side of this version is ran by NA. The headquarters of this version are in Toronto, they don't care about the UK scene as the UK servers are just to add money to their pockets. They let the community do all of the work for them, don't fool yourselves into thinking that the UK is actually part of this version. 1% of UK players actually live in the UK, and no competition provided.

For the record I do live in UK, and agree. Not really surprised how non of the mods actually replied on this thread since they all NA

They simply don't care and/or are ignorant of the situation. I'd recommend not buying any more ZP, why give them what they without service to their players. Also, this thread doesn't address the real problems that I've talked about so many times. It's actual tournaments/leagues with proper anti-cheat for the community that would make the difference (ESL cups, ESG etc) There wouldn't be much work involved for NA since they already have these set up for them.
  • I am personally from Norway, yet I play CF NA. I could play CrossFire Europe, but I won't, because 80% of the people I play with are from the UK or outside of CF Europes region. I read through what you said British, and I agree on some points and disagree on others. EGL was sponsored by Z8Games because they saw that it was a popular thing, and it started of as something fully community made. They used to name themselves SPL (Semi-Pro League) and hosted everything by themselves, both prices and anti-cheats. That's why I am saying that what we need to do to make this work, is to show interest by having people +1 vote a statement, made by the community. Support tickets won't work, forum threads wont work, but a bound community WILL work.
This is something that have been proved before when Tyze hosted the UK Tournament. When Z8Games noticed the interest in this, they were quick with handing out prices PLUS letting us use the OCG Anti-Cheat. There were simply too much attention around the subject to be ignored.
  • On the Egypt topic, we need something that let us control the UK Server Scrim community from outside the game, for example a teamspeak or a website. This can be done in a matter of minutes by either buying a teamspeak or making a website with a forum. Look at the crossfire.germany website thing. It has existed for years and are for german speaking people only. I don't see why we shouldn't be able to do the same. I know Egyptians can be a real pain in the ass, but changing servers wont do much; they will come back in a few weeks anyways.

Believe me when I say I have thought of this.. EGL uses bandicam as an AC... The unfortunate thing is, due to cf eu, most people who play in the UK servers aren't supposed to be playing here and the community will NEVER be able to grow. I may sound pessimistic but, due to licenses, future EU players won't be able to register for the version (not legitimately at least) It's probably really irritating that I keep bringing that up, considering you personally don't live in the UK, but these facts can't be ignored. A community based of players who are meant to be on other versions will never work. The community has to be based off UK, Turkish and Egyptian players.

I do agree that we can get competition the way you've said but it would simply be a stepping stone and would leave a lot to be improved on. We have to have our versions support for our servers and a foundation of players that belong to this version. Your suggestion could bring us some small competition and potentially bring more players to our servers, get us noticed even more etc. I do plan to hold more BGL cups but as you know, I can't pay for prizes... I don't think anyone wants to play without prizes.

If you ever want to PM rather than post go ahead.

If you can't pay for prizes, then you can always ask Z8Games to sponsor you with some codes or ZP.

I'd need help with that, no clue where to start. I doubt it's as easy as it sounds.

Try and send a PM to one or two of the GM's. If that doesn't work out, get a mod to help you out.
  • The solution is one guys! DRINK TILL YOU GET DRUNK! Then go home!

HOLIDAYS INC! Rest in peace Crossfire NA!
