Patching pauses and wont go any further. Stops at 'Patching: rez\RF017.REZ and will not go any further. I've closed and restarted which usually worked before but still no help. Any solutions?

RF017 is 1.3 GB

Just leave it for 2-10 mins (depends on you're internet speed). When the patcher is downloading a large file it can seem non-responsive.

If that dosn't work you can also spend a support ticket.

Nope it some time does the same with the small files.
yeah give it a time like Cf said 2-10 mins and if it is still not going further download the game from website and install again.

For issues like this, please try the following steps (Please make sure to follow the steps exactly, and in the order they are written):

1) Uninstall the game completely, and delete Z8Games folder from your program files folder
2) Perform system cleaning (Ex. Using CCleaner)
3) Disable your Anti-Virus real-time protection
4) Re-download the newest version of the game http://crossfire.z8games.com/downloadS2.aspx
5) Install the game
6) Add CrossFire and CrossFire folder to your Anti-Virus and Firewall exceptions list
7) Close all programs running in the background
8) Re-enable your Anti-Virus real-time protection
