strange lag

H!, im playing CF for a few years & probably half of year ago strange lag appeard - game freezes for a second or a few times for half of second when somebody (opposition)shooting at me or any way near me, granede explosion, or when zombies, monsters or etc. trying to punch me. Reinstalled windows, game, newest drivers etc., didnt helped. cant figure it out. My connection is 50mbs. PC: windows 7 x64 ultimate, cpu amd athlon ii x4 640 (3.0ghz), motherboard gigabyte ga-m720-us3, gpu: asus nvidia 9600gt (1gb), ram 4 gb. any answers or suggestions r welcome ))

probably your GPU is causing this lag due to over heating or you need to purchase a new GPU.
I had the similar issue with my previous 9500gt,fps used to drop to 1-5 in smoke or when ever zombie boss comes out etc and also it was over heating tried the paste etc didn't work so i purchased a new one.

You should try turning vertical sync. ON which will give you solid fps of 60,75 or higher depending on your monitors refresh rate.

Turning on vertical sync should help, I had the same problem because I had way too much fps lmao.

Hi, I turned on verical sync but it did not work. My FPS drops down from 200 to 30,40 for a second. Only CF has this problem, other games I am playing still works flawlessly. Any suggestion please?

than it might be your Graphic card btw which graphic card you have and how old is it ?
if you have AMD i can guide you,i previously had nvidia so i don't remember its settings..

Hi, I have a GTX 660 which comes along with an alienware x51 R1. I dont have this problem with other games except CF

Linus guide about adaptive Vsync
+ i will recommend you to lower the game play settings
lower the texture,weather effects if vsync doesn't help

New update is coming and i hope that will fix these small bugs and issues

Thank you but my card setting does not have Adaptive V-Sync though. I turned it On, not Adaptive, but it did not help. I play with 200 fps for 1 or 2 minutes then the fps drops to 30 for 2 seconds. It is so annoying

Turn v-sync to adapt and reinstall CF, it's because you still have 200 fps ,which should NOT be possible if u have v-sync on adapt.

I had the same problem, had a lot fps, got drops and had this strange lag.
After I turned on V-sync it still didn't work,I still had 200+ fps,just like you.
So I reinstalled CF,because V-sync worked in every game,except CF. (Like CS:Go,it worked)
After I reinstalled CF I had constant 144fps and now I didn't even lag once again. Hope it helps

I just upgraded my GTX 660 to GTX 960. I know the card has Adaptive V-sync. But I think because of my Alienware X51 R1 does not have that option so I could not find the Adaptive Vsync in Nvidia Setting, only use the 3D Application setting + Off + On options. However, I turned it On, reinstalled CF, but the problem is still not solved. I am so disappointing now, CF is my mainstream game, even I just bought a 144hz monitor to enjoy it. I am ordering a new processor in case the problem comes from my current processor. Do you think it is from my special mini motherboard which comes along with my Alienware X51? Thank you for your concern

I don't think it can be a issue with processor(except if it is heating up which can be solved by applying a new thermal paste and cleaning the heat sink),is there anything unnecessary running in the background while you play CF ?
If you any game booster or any program which are configured to control the setting of CF you might try disabling and then check again because it caused similar issues with a player who was using game boosters and also try changing the refresh rate of your monitor.

Updated: I have solved my problem guys. Thank you for all your helps. After opening Device Manager, I saw I missed 2 drivers for a Video Controller and PCI simple communications controller. Installed them and Voila! FPS is still 200 but my it is not being dropped to 30 like before
