"Invald item infomation"

About 20 mins ago, every game I joined in crossfire started crashing. After quiting the game and restarting my computer, whenever I try to join a server this happens.



Now here's the weird part, the crashes only started happening after I opened a crate from 2012 haloween which I had been saving for the past 3 years (recently started playing crossfire again), decided it would be neat to open one a week to get special cosmetic items no one else in the game has. One of the items in the crate however came up blank, with no text and am image of the swat character. I'm wondering if the crate attempted to give me an item long removed by the developers of the game and now my inventory is bugged.

Here is a pic of some of the crates I have, including the haloween one I opened.



Its also possible the issue isn't with the crates and its just a coincidence, but the error message makes me think otherwise. I'm kind of at a lose as to what to do. My game has performed perfectly up to now.

UPDATE: I just tried logging in and joining the game on an old account and it worked fine, I doubt there is anything wrong with my game files.

You are having this error because of those GP Crates. Crossfire staff randomly decided to not allow people having the perm Santa hat, Witch hat, Pumpkin head etc anymore. Actually they put out the excuse that the game's database can't handle anymore of these perm items or whatever. So those crates were removed for eternity.

So maybe what could have happened is that you must have won one of the perm hats from those Xmas/Hallow GP crates but since no one can win those now, and since they don't have their image files for BM wins, they showed up as blank crates. But since you did win the hat or the mask and now you do own it, it's giving you the error.

I am somewhat jealous of you though. You atleast had the chance to buy and open these crates. I had quit CF a few months before these crates' addition and their unfortunate removal, I found out after years that people won those hats/masks from these crates. It really felt awful that I didn't even have chance to try those crates. Oh well..

That's really weird, I never imagined that crate items would be removed from the games data base. It sucks that they will probably remove the crates from my account now, I hope I get to keep most of them. :[

But, to make things official and whatnot, please submit a ticket with this information to CrossFire Support.
