Disbanded Clan Name Unavailable

So I've been waiting for clans to get disbanded for a while now so I could change mine to a better name, but the clan name that I really wanted to change it to was taken until of course it got disbanded.
There was 1 member in that clan and it's been inactive for quite a while as well as the clan owner, I imagine.
When I tried changing it, it kept telling me "clan name unavailable" or something along those lines.
I figured it was just acting up, so I entered a different one (just random spam no one would think to name their clan) and that one was available, then I tried a different disbanded clan name and that wasn't available.
Is there a certain amount of time I have to wait before claiming this disbanded clan name and if so, how long?
Is there a way I could claim it now with the help of a mod?
Sorry in advance for all the questions and the wall of text. I couldn't find a thread anywhere that would tell me anything.

Hmm, there is a time frame where in game names are not available. Could work the same way. Let's see if we can get someone in here to answer.

Sorry for the confusion. There is a period of time where a clan name will be unusable after the clan is disbanded.
