This solution helps me ( until yet ) with this X-Trap pop up issue:
- Add the CrossFire program and the entire CrossFire folder to the list for exceptions of the protection-programs on your computer like firewall and antivirus. Close all unnecessary programs in the background before you start Cross Fire. -

But avast antivirus runs still in the background, you can disable it etc but it blocks / scans often aggressive the running game client.. i used in the past avast security software too at my computer and know this issues very well.. maybe better change the antivirus software, i use at my compute since many weeks Kaspersky Antivirus and it works good, it use low RAM and low CPU ressources. -

Ok, I've uninstalled the Avast Antivirus -No Antivirus Production- and the problem still the same -
And do you do this step: Add the CrossFire file CF_G4box.exe to the list for exceptions of your computer firewall. CF_G4box.exe is here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Z8Games\CrossFire
If you not know how to do this, look here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/communicate-through-windows-firewall#1TC=windows-7 -

what do you mean? the support of windows XP has end so i should change my operating system ?
YES of course!!! If you are smart, you give windows 7 a chance.
But look: If you have 2 - 3 GB RAM than use Windows 7 - 32 Bit.
If you have 4 GB RAM or more at your pc than use Windows 7 - 64 Bit.
If you not know how to check your installed RAM, than look this video from Microsoft:
