Haven't played in 2+ years, don't know who's around from back then. Drop past names if you recognize mine. Was also wondering how the current competitive community is doing?

Your name rings a bell. I've been around since middle of 2009, so it's possible I've seen you before lol.

Current competitive community is up and down, but things are looking up. We currently have ESL running weekly events and ESG running sometimes longer, seasonal events. Both of these offer cash prizes to the Top 2-3 teams. Prize amounts obviously aren't comparable to other big eSports titles, but it's better than no cash!

We now have CrossFire Stars, which generally happens once a year. This is hosted by Smilegate and generally offers fairly good cash prizes to the winners as well as a chance to travel internationally for a final LAN event to decide those winners.

There is also now the possibility of a new organization's events, WCA, probably once a year in the same fashion as CF Stars. No details on that one yet though.

I remember both of you. Glad to see CF is still active and alive. The game doesn't seem to have changed much.

That's a shame to hear, I really do miss playing everyday with the same familiar faces. Would be cool to rekindle some old friendships. No more malte/blitzd/doop/minty/gandhi/blasian/jessicabiel? I was in fUse and I was in LifeLine for a while as well, probably a few more I can't remember. What are the top clans looking like nowadays?

The top team is carbon, which has gandhi, xfam0usx, 15oLLLLL, brando, and xida. !nstinct is maveloff, jaime, pablo, ralf, and probably nova, but they're currently on a hiatus. Blitzed/malte still play together on a team called ace gaming, but they're not very good. You probably wouldn't be too familiar with any of the other players/teams. None of LPK plays anymore, although doop and minty visit the forums every once in a while

The amount of leagues and big events has increased, but the actual competitive scene is pretty dead compared to a couple years ago
