It means it can't connect to crossfire.z8games.com. Make sure to add the crossfire folder to your exceptions list in your firewall.

re-installing always works for me IF i get errors.

re-downloading does NOT fix the issue, I deleted crossfire and re-downloaded it and it continued to say "Crossfire Patcher v21" "Your client is invalid version. Re-install the latest version game client"

Dude this thread is 5 years old, reviving old threads is not allowed, make a new one. For fix, read the older threads in support (About 2-3 weeks ago)
