Shovel Lag Unfair??

Does anyone think the shovel is unfair the way it lags?

I see the shovel swing, then I go right after to kill the person, and I get killed, WHILE THEIR SHOVEL ISN'T EVEN MOVING. BS

Please fix the timing on it guys so that it kills during the actual movement and not 3 seconds after....

Yeah I agree: lag + shovel/axe is cheating.
But I wonder if they're inducing lag with a program or device, that will be definate cheating.

I love the shovel and I find myself getting kick often for lag?. My ping is 69. I know that isn't great but by no means is that the worst you'll see. They say I'm like 50 FEET way. On my screen I'm in their face and sometimes having to turn around to hit them. If there is any kind of lag it might have something to do with the shovel itself. I don't know what's going on. Never had a problem with this "lag" till I started using the shovel.

having 69 ping aint bad, so you shouldnt lag, depending on what your fps is. But I find that for even those who don't lag, their shovel still does. I've got an axe and it seems fine to me, but sometimes you'll see others doing it and their holding it up for what seems like ages before it drops. I think its a glitch with the shovel, like they havn't done the timing right.

FPS is usually around 50-60. Once in awhile my antivirus will update causing it to drop to about 20-30. Dont think my fps is all that great considering I've heard some top close to 200 and average about 150.

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with your ping or FPS.

I'm talking about the way the actual shovel itself lags.
I see the person swing it, then go up to them right after when it's not moving, and they are still killing me. This is unfair and they should fix the timing on it.

Ya, even with my 10 ping the E-Tool does not swing...

The shovel swings, but does the damage like 3 seconds after.

I haven't noticed much of a lag but then again I don't play knife matches much or even get killed by the shovel. If it is that much of a problem they will fix it im sure.

Yeah I went and played with my shovel and played agianst someone with the shovel. The person swinging the shovel sees that it is hitting, you are seeing the lag not the person swinging. Just that the timing for the shovel is off for the person not using it is what I'm saying.

I agree.

You see the shovel swing, then go to kill the shoveler 2 seconds later, and you still get killed even though the shovel is not moving.

Shovel is very unfair to knife only users!!!

Change how? They're not overpowered, and the only complainers here are the ones who got totally owned by a shovel or axe. That's why they won't even think about any changes.
Just jump back and stab, knife makes you faster, you have an advantage, think about tactic now.

The axe is fine.. it's the shovel timing that is messed up.

A shovel shouldn't kill you when it's not moving...

Yes you are definitely right about that.

PLEASE fix the shovel timing or remove it from the game. It is very unfair to knife users.

So the animation on the shovel was not fixed with the patch...

It's the right click that needs to be fixed...

well if they kick out the 100+ pings no more lag. and get a new computer if u get less then 20 fps cuz u fail

Neither of those is the issue.

It is the actual animation of how the opponent sees the shovel and when the shovel does the actual damage.

You obviously have never seen a shovel in action.

When you actually use a shovel it is completely different though, the shovel swings once, which does no damage then it swings again in which the damage occurs, if you play gm you will see it if you are ghost and use a shovel, it swings once to the left, then it swings back to the right, in the second phase to the right is when the damage is done but when the shovel comes back from the left to right the shovel goes invisible no clue why.
