pc help

so basically my computer kept randomly restarting every now and again until finally it just wouldnt start, changed the psu 500watts like i was using before computer fans would run, motherboard had power but i had no output to my screen,keyboard or mouse.

i then took memory out 1 by 1 unplugged hard drive, cd rom, nothing, still no beeps and no post, i then put in a 750w corsair psu thinking maybe 500w is too low still same thing, ive even reseated the cpu/checked all the wires and still nothing, ive now ordered a new motherboard but its really bugging me what the problem is, tried plugging pc in diff monitor still nothing lol.

fans run/motherboard power led is on, hard drive clicks, taken everything out and still same thing no beeps,no post wont even beep if i take all the memory out, time for a new motherboard?

Sounds like the Mobo got a surge to me.

The restarting is sort of symptomatic of overheating, probably led to ^ a capacitor breaking causing a surge.


Or not. Do any overclocking?
Should have (or just check with a voltmeter) a light to show that the cpu is getting power.

Maybe you need a new pc. Until this weekend i get my new pc, im so happy! And btw [MOD]dot i love u too because you are a computer / hardware / tech geek and you know so much!!

thanks guys the most likely reason is a surge so guess a new mobo at least i have a new psu at 750w so no problem there
