@ CF GMs and Admins

When Purvis made the remembering the legends thread, I started to reminisce about the good ole days.

Then I remembered how cool this was:

http://tournament.z8games.com/z8tt_LPK.aspx

However this is outdated and something should be done about it. Also When zzxq streams the ESL monthly finals, 16 viewers is pathetic. This is a lack of promotion from the Crossfire management and administration, in which they should promote the competitive scene way more not only on the competitive forums but on the z8games home page or tournament page. Like seriously, I remember CF having 200+ viewers watching LPK vs LifeLine during WOGL.... Some of those viewers did not play competitive but they just wanted to see what the competitive scene was like for example me, one of the reasons I became a competitive CF player was the awareness the cf administration has done to promote this scene.

Thank you

But yeah, it's pretty sad that famous streaming pubs gets 2/3 times the amount of viewers that zzxq gets in ESL finals (to be fair zzxq's view count is generally closer to 30 than 16, although that's still not very good)
  • I mean it's all Z8Games to be honest. I don't think admins/mods can make that happen. What I think they can do is to push it as much as possible to get it done, which they prob did tbh. The last decisions will always be on the hands of Z8Games no matter what .
  • This needs to be bumped and addressed ASAP. Why the hell in the competitive section does it still show LPK?

That alone shows the state of the competitive scene... No damn support at all!!

A little help or promotion will do wonders..

Like Seriously LPK is still up there?
  • Saidin was really the only one that maintained the competitive page during his free time. It was more of a side project that he did when he wasn't busy doing other things.
  • Yeah.. idk, if we had like one or two people who spent 1-2 days a week just trying to help grow the scene from the administrative side, it would help a lot. Especially considering how little effort it would take. Such as a post on the Official z8 Crossfire page couple hours before/during ESL/ESG streams, once a night post about some crossfire player streaming (x0tek, Famous, Pimp, etc).. Updating our freakin Competitive page just once a month with bio's about that months ESL champion and the top 3 from the previous ESG tournament.. Those are just a couple things that wouldn't take a whole lot of support teams time, could knock out in an hour, and 5minutes for the FaceBook posts.. Those will help even if it's just an extra 20-30 people a day.. But a huge core part is the fact that the community is pretty closed off to others. I personally have been hanging out with the pub scene, mainly because I play this game to blow off stress at this point, and they really don't like the competitive players. A lot of em think were complete *****s, and we sort of deserve that. A lot of us tend to treat them like second class players, which is rude and undeserving to them.

TL;DR ~ We stop being self entitled *****s, Z8 gets one person a week to do write ups, hell a forum mod could do it easily and pass the info to be copy pasted on our competitive page.

~I'm not saying this will save the community, but it can definitely help with literally minimal effort.

+1 totally agree with this tbh .

a lot of them want to play competitive actually, I know it but because of thoses reasons they just don't care about competitive anymore ... which is sad

and then we come across players like clayton and michaelxv and you wonder why most competitive players sht talk people like him and label them pubstars

not a one way street with that scenario my friend

That's funny, a lot of the pub scene is more egotistical than the competitive scene

Ok this is not the point of this thread. I'm just sick and tired of the lack of promotion z8games does with the competitive scene.

Then how the **** else are we supposed to do anything about z8games not giving a **** about competitive players? It's a ****ing disgrace. They keep on making threads about ideas on how to improve stuff and then they don't do **** about it.

A Petition could be a great idea to be honest . This is my opinion of course.

I don't know how often GM's take a look at forums, but like you guys said if it's been a long time that they haven't touched a single thing in the competitive section on the website and etc, which is sad, I doubt that they will pay attention to this thread, but I hope they do :)

we need something that's actually going to make them pay attention to the competitive scene, But what ? To be honest I don't know :/ I wish I could call them and talk to them about all of this. :(
  • You need to understand that the people working on CFNA are employees for Smilegate West and work under Smilegate. They have to do what their upper management tells them.

Our GM's want to do A LOT for us but they have other things that they need to work on. They are already working at full capacity with the GM's working well over 40+ hours a week.

If they had more employees to help lighten the work load then things can get better. But just adding more bodies wont be easy due to the upper management decisions.

They are lucky enough to have time to look at the forums and respond to us. Chaosta, Odeeb, Castiel and other GM's have taken what time they have and had conversations with us. I am surprised they have time to do so with all the work they have.

To help with the connection between the GM's and the community there are things that are in place to help shorten the distance between the 2. The upcoming patch on the 24th will be one of the things, so keep an eye out for something regarding it.

Prime carbon juicy fruits w0w welfare smiles ace gaming and (instinct) will not compete this crossfire stars as we will be boycotting the event. CFNA will be forced to send some shtty team to CFS international until they start helping the crossfire competitive scene grow.

What exactly are they doing other than sitting on their asses and finding more ways to mooch money from the players?

Yeah, I get that Anthony. But it's more or less just that we lump em all together. I'm not saying *******s aren't *******s, but just don't judge everyone first. But you are right.
That's funny, a lot of the pub scene is more egotistical than the competitive scene

Eh. I'm just going off of what I've seen in the past 2 weeks hanging out with the group I met. They really aren't arrogant and dislike the way they've been treated by competitive players. If the general pub scene is more egotistical, then I am really glad I'm not around them.

Both of you bring good points to the table. I really only ring for teams randomly these days, + I leave chat muted most of the time.

what's ironic about this is that Saidin was a consistent supporter of the competitive scene when wem, wogl, and wcg were around. ;)

so when he gets fired after five years of doing that... everything pretty much just collapses. our new GM has not been able to recuperate due to the collapse of that connection and has been very busy with the management of the game. but anyways, these topics are currently in discussion and there have been outlined plans for various aspects of the community, competitive included, to be announced in the near future

idk what exactly you're trying to say but this is the goal of every gaming company. keep in mind that z8 is a publisher, it doesn't rake in as much as smilegate; maybe 10% maximum and that's mostly salary

there are actually changes coming up for the competitive side of this game. so stay tuned!

  • there are actually changes coming up for the competitive side of this game. so stay tuned!

How many times has this been said :/

@thread, the communities bad overall (not just the competitive scene), but that doesn't have a huge affect on the competitive scene. Like others said z8 just needs to be more involved. Maybe promote competitive streams on their facebook, or even the CF launcher and in-game like CSGO. Having open/pro, which I think both ESG and ESL are working on, will also hopefully help
  • How many times has this been said :/

i can't force you to believe that =/

go with what suits you. either way, i'm just revealing what I currently know/have on this matter, aka the truth ;)
  • I believe that the true problem limiting growth in this community is the lack of credibility among the community and admins. As for the community, just look at the top teams at this point in time. One of which (Carbon) cheated to potentially win thousands of dollars, and the other (teamw0w) has faced much scrutiny of cheating in the past (who knows now, anyways).

For the admins, there is a shining star in ZZXQ, and Polleus has done countless great things for the game. But as long as Mike has his arbitrary banning power, the CrossFire community will face incessant persecution.

Also, having Purvis being the main streamer for all ESG events is yet another problem in this community. May lord have mercy on him and Libby.

This covers most of it tbh.

I don't agree with a lot of the comments here because I do understand how much work the GM's do have to do and how little time they really have, but there has to be some way that they can appoint someone with the time, desire, and ability to promote the competitive side of the game to a position as to where they can do something for us. Twitch is the new big thing in gaming and that is where games become big in the "western" culture. Brazilian streamers do get a lot of viewers, but English CF streams really do not. When CF's Facebook posts that one of their MOD's who, no offense, aren't really that good or that entertaining to watch are going to be streaming, they still can easily pull in 200 concurrent viewers.

If they even just, every now and then, promoted CF streams by posting them on their Facebook, even that would drastically help, not only competitive CF, but the population of CF itself. People will try out the game or come back to the game because of watching someone have fun playing it. The thing z8 needs to realize is, is that the reason CFNA is dying is not just because of the cheaters. A huge part of it is that there is no real advertisement. A no-cost, easy way to advertise CFNA is to promote the streams. Maybe give away codes for ZP to streamers to promote viewership or something, idk. If CF became decent-sized on twitch, it would do wonders for the game. Even just announcing on Facebook that codes will be given away on ESG or ESL's streams would boost the viewership of those channels easily.

There are also many other ways of helping the competitive scene and CF itself, but my fingers are tired of typing so I'm done lol.

Edit: I remember during Winter break when I was averaging like 150 viewers, there were so many ppl in chat that had not played the game in so long and decided to play it again because they were watching me play. There are so many times on my stream (only example I have is my own stream because I don't really watch other CF streams taht often tbh) that people will redownload the game, and, if it wasn't for twitch, they wouldn't have reminisced and refound CF or found it in the first place.

Basically there's certain people in the pub scene who are super egotistical/annoying/stupid and also probably pathological liars.

    Not naming names
