Cannot Alt-tab while in game

Recently (Not just the latest patch) I've not been able to alt-tab while in game. I used to be able to alt-tab on this computer and my friends with similar hardware/software are able to alt-tab just fine.

Pressing alt-tab gives me the image below. I cannot click on anything or it will bring me back into the game. Clicking on anything (such as the skype icon) won't do anything. Only pressing the windows button brings me to the start menu.

I'm on Windows 8.1
Processor with i7-4710HQ
Graphics card is Nvidia GTX 970M (6 Gb version)

same problem here. windows 7 worked fine alt + tabbing. Windows 8.1 doesn't allow it to switch, and that's really annoying when you are trying to fix something with let's say a teamspeak server, or since I listen to music on youtube while I play I can't

I used to be able to alt-tab on windows 8.1 though. Plus, my friend can still alt-tab on his windows 8.1 install so idk anymore

Thank you! Though not really solved (What Hussein_2 has is a workaround) I take a workaround over not being able to alt+tab at all. I wonder if this will ever be resolved.

Just a quickie , try ctrl alt and delete then cancel task mgr , then try atl tab ..
