  • Of course you can. Why would adding more RAM to your computer cause problems?

Btw this should go in Off Topic.
  • Yup.
    I just bought 2 kingstone 4gb pc3-12800 cl11 204-pin sodimm.but my screen turns blue after restart..
  • Depends.. I don't know much (anything) about Apple, but a couple of things to observe.

Two ELPIDA cards sum up to 4 GB, two Kingston cards sum up to 8 GB, the motherboard might not accept it.

The ELIPTA cards are clocked at 1333MHz, the Kingston cards are clocked at 1600MHz. The motherboard might not accept this.

The ELIPTA cards runs at 1.5 volt, the Kingston might (MIGHT) be running at 1.35. This might cause trouble.

If using just one card doesn't work, you might be able to mess around in BIOS to give less power or clock them down, reservation for possibly destroying the motherboard.

These are the kind of things you'll want to make sure match before you order.

(oh, and unrelated to Crossfire so moved to OT)
  • thanks bros, specially to mod . very clear and informative explanation,
-blue screen message says that new installed software or driver might cause the problem,
-tweaking the bios might help but maybe it will just cause another bigger problem, right?
-so maybe I should buy new and correct ram this time, with the same specs.
