All I've seem him make is a below average intro for the ego 8 community
  • At this current time nothing is planned. Anything that we do have is either written on paper or just ideas being thrown around. Some of the things I can say is that we are just waiting on budget and/or funds and a location. Youll know as soon as we know. Heck we dont even know when CFS S4 is.

Well the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Dumbest thing I've heard yet. You expect everyone from the east coast and north to fly to one spot of North America that doesn't have a high population of crossfire competitive players. A reasonable location would be Chicago or Ferguson.

That depends. Personally I know its not smart to have a LAN on the other side of the country. Flights from lets say New York to California run about $300 dollars not counting other various expenses. So if you do the math multiplied by 5 that would be around $1,500 dollars just for the whole team to fly out. From my point of view its a set back in the Crossfire Competitive scene.

As for locations I would say starting a new poll on where everyone lives right now. My best bet for a LAN location would be somewhere in Chicago or Central America.

Ill be honest with you. I personally agree with you that having a LAN in the middle of the US is great an option to help bring the most players to the event. However with NESL hosting events and lending us their studio from the last CFS we can look at having a LAN at the NESL studio in Burbank, CA. We really want to stipend teams to go but at this time nothing is known and just in a standby faze.

You won't have as many people at the LAN though if you have it directed on one side of country. Unless I have a Sponsorship or the Crossfire Game Masters supporting my flight, I won't be participating. I can guarantee you that a majority of the Crossfire Competitive scene will be on the same boat as me.

As for the location. I'm sure you can find better than that. I'll provide you with a few examples just in case you're to lazy to put some effort in yourself

    http://ignitegl.com/

With this Gaming Lounge in Chicago you have tons of options. From just taking a small look at the page it has plenty of room. I won't go in depth about how the fees and renting should work because that's not necessarily my job to do. I'm sure it would be easy to work something out with these guys.

Here is another possible option in New York. I'll leave the rest of the work too you. From my point of view I think a poll is needed to see where most competitive players live at. Contact me if you need any help

Ignite is a horrible idea, both purvis and i and even mods of the game have taken this place into consideration but there's no point of having a lan there.

I already have a deal with Ignite that I made 2 years ago. Hopefully they stick to what they said and hold up their end of the deal. I like what they do but the way the PC's are arranged is a little weird with a possibility that an opposing teams can see your monitor. Ill have to ask some of the CSGO players about it and see what they experience.

Ebash in Indianapolis is I believe a nicer venue due to their setup including a tournament stage and broadcasting booth.

Ill check that world gaming nation venue and see what they have to offer.

All in all we want to have the best gaming experience for the players. This means having an easy to travel to location that provides the right gaming atmosphere that has room for a stage, seating, broadcasting, and other things. All options are open at this point in time.

It looks like a nice center to me. Have you been there before since you live in Chicago?

I honestly agree when it comes to how the PC's are setup. It makes me wonder if its easy to ghost or look at the opposing teams monitor. As for the seating part, I'm not to sure if that's required since Crossfire doesn't have the largest North American audience. It would just be nice to have some answers when it comes to what direction this version of Crossfire is going towards.

Did I once say that you were correct? No, I was simply giving my input on where the LAN should be held. If you don't agree with it then get off the forums.
  • Hey boys, lanned for the Csgo tournament at ignite.

Thoughts: Venue is nice, staff was fairly chill, computers and headsets are nice, setup for an actual tournament is awful. The stations are setup so that 2+ players on each time are susceptible to screen watching.

There was talk with Boyer and a few staff of moving dividers around to limit the screen watching for the next tournament, so that seems like it could be possible.

But with that being said I believe that this lan has a 0.000001% chance of actually happening. If it does, lets put it in Ferguson so I can cause another riot.

No I'm not Helen Keller. His opinion isn't relevant to the situation from where I'm standing.
  • so what I'm hearing is there really isn't any viable choice for a lan anytime soon
