Failed to execute HGWC

Originally had the "cannot connect to server" problem but now I've had this new "failed to execute" problem for a few days. Looking into Program files/z8games/crossfire/hgwc , the hgwc folder is completely empty. Is that the problem?
I sent my IP a few days ago so there's no point in asking to submit the same ticket over and over again

Problem solved.

Too all people experiencing the "failed to execute hgwc" issue. The hgwc.exe file is missing.

Download and install crossfire eu from gamerage, then copy and paste the hgwc.exe file from that game to the crossfire na folder in your program files or whereever it is installed (but not inside the hgwc folder, paste it into the "CrossFire" folder).

It's as simple as that.

If I could, I would just upload the file here for anyone to download.

Man i got this failed to connect to mm server whenever i try a server, only other servers that work are the ones with like noone on it fix this please.

I tried that, and I still get the HGW error. I copied the folder over, which only had one file in it (hgwc_20140430_174457.slg) and it didn't do anything.

I had the Failed to connect to server at first, then i uninstalled and reinstalled, then got the Failed to execute HGWC error. I solved the problem though. Not sure if it is what happens to you guys. But my antivirus, McAfee, sees the HGWC file as a virus and quarantines it before it installs. So I had to shut antivirus off while CF downloaded, installed, and patched. Everything works fine now. But when I do get the Failed to connect error at login, or the MM server connection error, i use HotSpot Shield to change my IP. Instead of waiting for router to reset. Hope this helps~

I had the same problem but last night i re-downloaded the game and it worked. Pretty sure z8 solved this issue cause i haven't done anything beside re-installing the game. Just re-install the game whoever gets this error "failed to execute HGWC" but delete every folder named crossfire

Hello, my brother play to crossfire like me. I have the same problem than u but he doesn't have this problem. I looked into Program files/z8games/crossfire/hgwc,the hgwc folder is completely empty too ( on his computer and on my computer ). There is just 1 different between my computer and his computer, I have windows 8 but he has windows 7. So i have this question what is your windows ?

I have windows 7. I had this error, and when I checked the HGW folder it was empty. I tried to copy the CF EU HGW folder over, but it did not solve anything.

I uninstalled CF last night and then reinstalled it, and now it works fine. I don't know why or how but it works.

And yes, the HGWC folder is empty, and it should be empty.

The Crossfire folder should contain the hgwc.exe file

You can get this file from downloading and installing crossfire Europe.

Copy and paste the hgwc.exe from crossfire Europe to your normal CrossFire folder

don't copy the folder over.

1. Download and install crossfire Europe from gamerage

2. ONLY copy the HGWC.exe file from: SG Interactive>Crossfire Europe>HGWC.exe

3. Paste this file into your CrossFire (NA/UK) folder: Z8 Games>CrossFire

4. Done, open CF and enjoy the game
